Thank you to Tuggo for providing me with product, free of charge, in exchange for this honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.
We have two dogs; a senior lab and a young great dane/mastiff. Our senior lab, Kaylee, is pretty much content laying around and taking naps in the warm sun. Whereas, our dane/mastiff, Kenya, is VERY active and always right by our sides.
We haven’t had Kenya very long. We adopted her last fall/winter. With Kaylee being a senior, it has been quite a while since we have had an active dog in the house. We didn’t have any dog toys for Kenya to play with. She found one of my daughter’s plastic frisbees and played with it until it was in pieces. Then she discovered that she could carry basketballs and soccer balls in her mouth. That was great fun until she popped them all. It quickly became obvious we needed to get Kenya some toys of her own.
I found a company called Tuggo. Tuggo specializes in water-weighted dog toys. They make balls that can be filled with water to weigh them down. A knotted rope runs through two sides off the Tuggo ball making it perfect for a fun game of tug-o-war.
For our review, we received two Tuggo balls. The 10″ Tuggo ball can hold up to 18 pounds of water. This ball is great for dogs weighing over 40 pounds. The 7″ Mini Tuggo ball can hold up to six pounds of water. This size is well suited for dogs weighing under 40 pounds.
When our Tuggo balls arrived, I filled them about 1/2 way with water. I wanted to see how Kenya would react to the balls before filling them all the way.
As you can see in the photos, Kenya LOVES her Tuggo balls. She definitely favors the mini Tuggo, but both get played with. When she plays with her Tuggos, she usually carries them by the rope in her mouth. She will fling the balls and then retrieve them and repeat.
After about a month of play, our Tuggos still look brand new. That is saying a lot for how much rough play they get. Tuggo balls have been a great addition to Kenya’s new toybox.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

My little dogs love playing with toys. Now that they are getting a little older, something with a little more weight might take off that little extra weight that they have gained. These look like great toys for them.

Super neat!! What a genius idea!! I wonder though… do you have to drain the water periodically?? Im thinking mold growage?

This company makes great products! I have seen them and they are well made and very durable. I got one for our dog, but he is too darn lazy to play much – he is a senior too now. For younger dogs they have a lot of fun!

I love the idea of a water weighted toy. These look like they will be so much fun. I assume they are thick enough for a dog’s teeth not to puncture it.

I wish my female pit bull could actually play with toys but she destroys them all in a matter of minutes. This looks like so much fun though for a dog.

FIrst time I have seen toys filled with water. Our bigger dog would likely love it
I have never used these dog toys with water. My Yorkie used to love the knotted rope toy and it was great to burn up excess energy. They are easy to clean too.
