My journey on Nutrisystem has taken off! Last week was my first week back with the program. Throughout the week, I found myself relying heavily on the NuMi Nutrisystem app. NuMi allows me to journal my food intake, water, and activities. I mainly use it to journal my food. It is a great tool to help me stay accountable.
New to me in this round of Nutrisystem, is the Flex Meal. Once a week, you get a Flex Lunch and a Flex Dinner. When you have a Flex Meal, you create the meal (as opposed to one of the Nutrisystem provided meals). Nutrisystem guides you on making educated choices with proper servings of POWERFUEL protein and SMARTCARBS. I understand this to be a way to teach us on how to make healthy choices. It will help us maintain our weight when we reach our goal.
I saved my Flex meals for the weekend. I was actually really nervous about these meals. I didn’t feel that I was ready to make healthy choices. I worried I would choose something “wrong” and through off my success. I came to terms with the fact that I would make the best decision that I could at that moment. Next time, I may know more and may make a different decision. All in all, I think I did OK.
My progress this week shows-
Weight loss- 1.8 pounds
Arms- lost of 1 inch
Chest- no change
Waist- lost 2 inches
Hips- no change
Thighs- lost 1 inch
Calves- lost 1 inch
TOTAL- This week I lost 1.8 pounds and 5 inches!
I am excited for next week. It feels good to be moving in the right direction.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

Wow this sounds great and I love the app concept and the flex lunch and dinner! I want to try it! I’ve been carry the freshman 15 for decades now. grrrr!

You did fantastic! I say the inches lost is the real key- things I bet already fitting differently. Yeah the flex meal sounds kind of scary, but you did it. Keep going!
Congratulations on your progress on the first week. That is so good. I know you can do as well on the second week.
