I have been provided with a Nutrisystem plan in exchange for sharing my honest experience and results on my blog. All opinions are my own.

Thanksgiving always sneaks up on me. I get so wrapped up in my holiday gift guide for the blog that November passes so quickly. Before my next Nutrisystem update we will be past Thanksgiving! I thought I would use this post to get into the Thanksgiving spirit and explain why we are thankful for Nutrisystem. There are many reasons, but here are my top 5.

Ryan November 2014

Ryan in November of 2014.

  1. Ryan has lost over 60 pounds! That is definitely something to be thankful for.
  2. Nutrisystem helped us to understand that you can eat a low-calorie diet without being left hungry. Prior to Nutrisystem we really thought that losing weight meant being physically uncomfortable! That doesn’t have to be true.
  3. It taught us the basics of nutrition. Once we saw that eating small portions from Nutrisystem didn’t leave Ryan feeling hungry all the time, we wanted to learn why. We figured out that it’s because Nutrisystem foods are high in protein and fiber, which keep you feeling fuller longer.
  4. The meals are so easy to prepare. Ryan wouldn’t have maintained this diet during busy periods if the cooking required a lot of time and energy.
  5. Variety. Another key to Ryan tolerating this meal plan for so long comes down to the variety available. He gets tired of eating the same foods over and over, so the fact that Nutrisystem has a large menu has aided a lot in his success with the program.

This week on the Nutrisystem Facebook page they are sharing recipes for Thanksgiving for people who are on the plan.

He looks amazing now, and I bet he really is almost like a different fella. I am really impressed with not only his weight loss but his will to stick with it. Junk food is tough to pass up and I bet he had some rough times, but the way he feels I am sure far outweighs the bad. Keep up the good work Ryan!

It’s good that Ryan is exercising too and I know the weight loss has made that so much easier and less painful. I continue to preach that exercise should go hand-in-hand with diet, although the nice changes we see on the outside is a great bonus too.
