I was sent a WellnessMats mat for the holiday gift guide. All opinions are my own.

I usually do the dishes right before going to bed. It’s nice to wake up to a completely clean kitchen. I don’t enjoy standing on my feet for 45+ minutes at the end of the day, though. On days where I have been active or walking a lot, it makes me feet or back hurt to stand at the kitchen sink late at night.

I was recently sent a mat from WellnessMats from their Gatsby collection mat. These mats can be customized from several colors, plus your choice of monogram and monogram color. I chose dark antique for the mat color which is a deep brown, then a silver monogram in the letter S (my long-term boyfriend’s last initial). The mats are generously sized at 3′ by 2′ 3/4″. In my house this mat fits pretty perfectly across the length of my sink and lining up with the two cupboards directly under my sink. The mat is fairly thick but has beveled edges so when I have walked past it, my feet don’t catch the edge or make me stumble.

I loved how there were so many color options to choose from. My kitchen floor has a lot of warm shades in it, so I thought a darker toned mat would make for a nice contrast. It took me quite a while to decide between the gold or silver monogram color but in the end I went with silver and I think it looks nice.

I’ve found myself moving this back and forth between my sink and my stove area. I like standing on it for cooking and cleaning. I may have to get a second one eventually so I don’t have to share it between the two spaces. I’ve found myself bouncing around on the balls of my feet while standing on this mat because the cushion provides a feeling that feels great against my feet whether bare or in socks.

The mat is made with a modern ergonomic design. They are made in the USA and are backed by a 20-year manufacturers warranty. They are inherently antimicrobial, easy to clean and stain resistant. Plus, they will never curl or laminate.

This mat has exceeded my expectations so far. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a mat to make kitchen work more comfortable.
