The countdown to the Sebring event weekend is on! It starts 3/15 and runs through 3/18. To watch be sure to tune in to FS1 (Fox Sports) channel from 12:30pm to 11pm. Plus the whole race will be broadcast on Fox Sports Go from 10:30am to 11pm.
I’m not sure if I have talked about it before, but I was really little when I watched my first race. My stepbrother is about 15 years older than me and he started doing local races when he was a young adult. When I was in middle school my stepdad bought his first car, too. Until I left the house I attended races quite regularly during the summer!
When you know people who do local races, it gets the kids around quite interested. My nephew Drew is six now and he loved cars and racing from about the time he could talk. It’s also increased the whole family interest in watching racing on TV.
Well before my stepdad got his first car, we would watch racing on TV. Sometimes family members would even come over and we’d have appetizers and drinks, just like you would with any other sports game. As a kid I loved how racing involved so many different drivers. Even if you have a big party gathering, each person can choose who to support and “compete” with each other instead of there only being two teams to choose from.
We are cozy on the couch, ready to watch some racing!
IMSA is a unique and interesting organization because it includes all the best of F1. It covers NASCAR and Indy car racing all in one setting. IMSA features some of the fastest and the most unique cars that go to head on some of the world’s best tracks.
Remember, the Sebring race starts in just 2 days, on the 15th. Time to head to the store to pick up snacks and refreshments! We try to count calories around here so we’ll be snacking on low-calorie popcorn and diet soda most likely. My favorite low-cal appetizer is tortillas with chicken and cheese. Filling, high in protein so they are nice and filling.

My life has started…. with the Daytona 500. I grew up with my Dad taking me to local racing tracks and watching NASCAR on TV. That hooked me and I am still watching it with anticipation each weekend.

That sounds fun. Growing up no one in my family watched sports (yes it’s a bit odd) or racing for that matter so it would just be me if I had wanted to. You make it look fun though, and that’s true about not just two teams. Maybe it’s time to start my own tradition 🙂

My husband’s uncle races each year with his sons. It’s fun to go watch them!

Looks like it will be a fun time. I don’t have the Fox Sports channel.
