Thank you to BOU for providing me with products in exchange for this honest blog review. All opinions are 100% my own.

We eat most of our meals at home. We do this for multiple reasons, but mainly because it is healthier. When we cook at home, it is a family affair; we all four enjoy being in the kitchen. Each of us has a different style of cooking. This adds variety and makes mealtime fun.

I was recently asked to review BOU bouillon cubes. With all the cooking we do, this was a great fit for us. BOU bouillon cubes have 30% less sodium than traditional bouillon cubes. They are gluten-free, have non-GMO ingredients and are made in the USA. BOU bouillon cubes are available in chicken, beef, and vegetable.

The day my BOU bouillon cubes arrived, it was cold and rainy. It was also a day I was going to be away from home for most of the day. This gave me the perfect opportunity to fill the crockpot with a bounty of fresh vegetables, diced chicken breast, basmati rice, and BOU bouillon cubes. When we returned home, we had a delicious, homemade chicken and rice soup waiting for us!

Most people just use bouillon cubes for soup. They are great in soup but can add flavor to many other dishes as well.  Are you making rice, quinoa, or couscous? Add a BOU bouillon cube to the water before adding it to your grain. Make a beef stew with veggies, red cooking wine, and Beef BOU bouillon cubes. Add a bouillon cube to a roux, then add either water or milk for a tasty gravy. Not feeling well? Make a cup of warm/hot water, add your choice of BOU bouillon cubes and sip. The list of possible things to do with BOU bouillon cubes goes on and on.

Just curious the brand of Beef Bouillon I have in my spice cabinet has 910mg sodium per cube and a different brand of chicken bouillon I have in my spice cabinet has 1170mg per cube, so how many mg per cube does this brand have in both the chicken and the beef? I did see the ingredients on their website, but not the actual mg per cube of the different flavors. Thank You In Advance.

Vegetable bouillon would be my go to. Too many times I have not had veg stock on hand.

I tend to use chicken bullion most often in my cooking, but would also love to try some of those dishes with the vegetable broth for a new and interesting flavor. I love that the sodium count is lower in the BOU brand than the brand I currently am using.

i U se chicken boullion for a lot of recipes. It always gives it that extra oompf. It also saves from having to toss out half used carton of broth.
