I am a Nutrisystem nation blogger. I am provided with a Nutrisystem meal plan in return for sharing regular updates. All opinions are my own.

Here in Michigan the weather has gotten chilly already! I went to the store around 8pm last night wearing jeans and a sweater and my hands were really cold by the time I got back to the house. I should have worn an actual jacket!

Nutrisystem meals for fall

With the cooler weather I start craving different kinds of foods. I find myself less interested in wraps and cold salads and more interested in something that is served warm. However, more hearty meals such as ones with meat or potatoes appeal to me the most. Here are some of Ryan’s favorite Nutrisystem entrees for fall:

  1. Ham and Bean soup
  2. Beef Stew
  3. Chicken pot pie
  4. Turkey sausage & egg muffin
  5. Turkey, ham & cheese omelet

He also uses potatoes as his SmartCarb option more frequently in the winter. We are still so thankful that there is a wide range of entree options, and a huge list of SmartCarb and PowerFuel options as well. It lets Ryan adapt to seasonal preferences, and sometimes even just cravings or desires without stepping away from the plan. Flexibility and adaptability make the plan so much more manageable in the long run, in my opinion. Meal plans that are too limited or too restrictive are so much more likely to get broken long term. We all need options to choose from so we don’t get bored. It just seems like part of human nature to me.

Do you switch your meals with the seasons? What types of foods do you eat more of during fall and winter?

In the fall, I make more soups and stews. I also love using pumpkin in many recipes….sauces, echiladas, lasagna…

I really like winter meals year round but they are too hot sometimes for summer. I make chicken pot pies, chilis, beef stews and tons of meals in the slow cooker.

I love cold weather and especially what I call Fall and Winter food, or comfort food. It is definitely my favorite to cook, and everyone in the family seems to enjoy them over the light summer meals. I am super jealous of your Michigan weather, my whole family is from and lives there! We visited in June and I never wanted to leave, way better than the scorchers here in Texas!

I use my crock pot for hot stews and soups more in the Fall & Winter.
