Picture This Clothing allows you to wear your imagination! They take your artwork and turn it into a one-of-a-kind t-shirt or dress. To begin the process, you print out a template from the Picture This Clothing website. Pay attention to the template options as you have a choice between men, women, and kids sizes. Your template will reflect which piece and size you desire to have made. Picture This Dresses sizes are in line with average US department store sizes, order the same size you’d buy at Target or similar. Their t-shirts run small, so order a size larger than what you’d normally buy.
Once you have your template, let your creative juices flow! You can decorate your template in any way you wish. It was suggested to us that we fill the template with as much color/design as possible.
My daughters took completely different approaches to designing their dress templates. Cheyenne wanted a sort-of paint splatter effect. She took eye-droppers with ink and made splotches. Then she tipped the paper so the ink would run together. Savannah decided to fill her dress template with all of her favorite trinkets. It ended up being sort of like an eye-spy picture. Both designs turned out beautifully and express the girls’ fun personalities.
Once you have your template design completed, you take a hi-res photo of the template and send it to Picture This Clothing. At this time, you have the option to add a matching product that fits an 18-inch doll. My daughters decided to add them to their orders.
After just a few short weeks, our products arrived. As the girls opened their packages, I heard giggles and squeals of delight. We were all shocked by how close the dresses matched their designs.
I asked my daughters to share their thoughts with you-
Cheyenne, 8 years old, said “I think that it’s pretty cool that you can design your own dress or t-shirt because sometimes you don’t know what to wear…you don’t like your clothes that day or whatever. Some kids and parents just want an outfit that they designed. I like colorful clothes so I thought that I would do splatter paint and let it run together. I have always wanted to come up with my own dress or outfit design. Its hard for most kids to go clothes shopping and find exactly what they want. With Picture This Clothing they can find exactly what they want by drawing and painting and designing their own. I think it that it is really cool to design your own clothes!”
Savannah, 11 years old, had this to say, “I love Picture This Clothing because you really get to express your favorite things like rainbows, cats, and Oreos! In fact, that sounds like a great dress! The fabric is really soft and stretchy. The picture came out just like I imagined and made me really happy to see it. I was excited to see how it turned out! On my dress, I decided to put on some of my favorite things- a galaxy fidget spinner, glitter, earrings, bookmarkers, and little doodles. I really love my dress and I would suggest it to anyone who is artsy and loves being creative!”

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

The dresses are even more wonderful in person! Our daughter received the opportunity to create dresses for herself and her doll as a gift from her grandparents. She’s wearing her new dress to school today for the first time and can’t wait to see the reaction from her art teacher! This would make a great gift for anyone. 🌸

The Little Prince design is SO neat! My niece would love this. She’s got a real flair for fashion and loves to draw.
We love PTC! My 8 yr old comes up with so many good ideas and has 3 dresses and my 14 yr old has a tshirt. We post a lot of designs on my IG. Our favorite thing to do is hollow out the template and use lots of different materials to see what we can come up with. You don’t have to be an artist to design amazing dresses/t shirt, just use your imagination, be creative and have fun!
