With my first two children in order to help encourage myself to stick with nursing I didn’t buy any bottles or have any formula in the house. My grandmother did urge that I might get a hand breastpump just in case I needed to express any milk for any reason, so I did. After I had my son I was so glad that I had the pump as I was very engorged in the beginning. Afterwards we were together constantly and there were only a few seldom times he actually took milk from a bottle but it was helpful for pumping and giving milk to other mommas and babies.

This go around with my third I’ve found myself needing to get out more and he absolutely hates car rides so most times it’s easier to have his daddy watch him at home while I run out and do errands. Each time I’m out though I experience a bit of panic to be back before he needs to nurse again. With Medela’s Freestyle Pump I can pump enough milk super quickly to head out and be gone for the day if needed.

With multiple different settings in vacuum and speed areas you can be sure that a let down is achieved and mimic your own baby usual suckling. The Freestyle comes with multiple sized breast shields which is incredibly important because the wrong size can leave you feeling pinched and sore. There are really so many helpful features on this breast pump I cant say enough good things about it.

One thought I used to have about pumping was the fear about bacteria in the tubing and pump parts but Medela has you covered there too with quick clean sanitizing bags, as well as pump spray and soap to make things easier to clean, and keep clean.

Storing milk is also super easy with Medela included cooler, cold pack and bottles as well!

All in all I love the Medela freestyles ease of use and ease of cleaning. The freestyle is much quicker than my manual pump I used to have which makes pumping a much quicker process so I can spend more handsfree time caring for my other children.
