Thank you to Crayola for providing me with products to facilitate my blog review. All opinions are 100% my own.

My two tween daughters and I recently had the opportunity to try two of Crayola’s new toys, the Color Chemistry Lab Set & Crayon Melter.

I want to start with Crayola’s Color Chemistry Lab Set. This was our favorite of these two toys. The Color Chemistry Lab Set comes with instructions for completing fifty colorful activities at home. The box set comes with enough materials and supplies to do sixteen of the activities. The other activities will require just a few supplies from outside the home. All of the Color Chemistry Lab activities have been created and approved by real Crayola scientists. The activities are both fun and educational. The Color Chemistry Lab Set is suggested for kids ages seven and up.

My daughters are nine and almost twelve years old. We opened the Color Chemistry Lab Set together and looked over the activity booklet. I felt that the activities were explained well enough that I could just sit back and let them run the lab. To say they have fun would be an understatement! They played with the lab set until they were out of products…approx two hours. They created slime, artwork, a volcano and more. They had a blast. This is something I will for sure buy again.

The Crayon Melter is a new crafting tool that allows you to create crayon art without needing your hairdryer. Simply use the wrapper-ripper (included) to remove the crayon label. Then push the crayon into the heated melter. Apply light pressure with the tip of the melter to your paper. The melted wax will be expelled from the tip as you work. If you want to change colors, allow the unit to cool and clean it thoroughly (with the included tool) so you don’t have unwanted color mixing. The Crayon Melter has a low-heat tip so kids ages eight and up can use it. The Crayon Melter kit comes with 8 Crayola Crayons.

We had to practice a lot to get the hang of the Crayola Crayon Melter. Once we figured it out, we decided to use it to decorate wood rounds we had cut for Christmas Tree ornaments. We had fun and made some unique ornaments.

I had no idea that Crayola has such neat kits. It would be a great gift for crafters in our family

These look like so much fun! We used to make shapes out of melted crayons when our girls were little. Our youngest made crayon art on canvas a few years ago, it turned out really neat.
