Today is one of the warmest days we have had this year. This nice weather has me thinking about our summer garden. We are going to do things a little bit different this year. This year, we want to better focus our plantings. We are going to grow fewer varieties, but plant larger numbers of the items we enjoy.
We also have a new greenhouse. Our area isn’t quite warm enough for tomatoes, peppers, or melons to grow well. I plan to experiment with these items in the greenhouse. Hopefully, the greenhouse will help hold heat and extend our growing season.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. My Mom does our garden every year. For most items, she prefers seeds also. Her only exception is tomatoes which she does plants.
