TCG toys sent me products for my holiday gift guide. All opinions are my own.

TCG Toys may just have gifts for both the young and old on your list! At least, that’s my plan. My dad is in his 70’s and has some health struggles that have limited his ability to be as active as he was a few years ago. He spends a lot of time in the house these days. One of the things he has taken to doing in his free time is word search puzzles. I got thinking that he seems to be the type of person who enjoys sort of ‘figuring things out’ and although I have never seen him work on jigsaw puzzles, I think he probably enjoys puzzles. So I got a couple of puzzles from TCG toys that will be going to my dad.

Charles Fazzino puzzles from TCG Toys are really bright and colorful puzzles in a 3D Pop Art style. Often times jigsaw puzzles are more subdued and may seem like they are made for older women. While those are nice, I wasn’t so sure that thy were my dad’s style. I liked Charles Fazzino puzzles because they just seem fun and energized, and when thinking of my dad, also because they aren’t common feminine interests such as flowers or birds. Charles Fazzino puzzles are available in 300 ct or 1000ct and are 8.99 to 9.99 each making them affordable gifts. They are recommended for ages 14+.

Rubik’s puzzles from TCG Toys are 200 and 300 pc puzzles that get their designs from an app that pixilated images that are intended to replicate the mosaics made from Rubik’s cubes. So these pieces will have the shapes and colors you expect from Rubik’s cubes on each piece. Every piece of the puzzle is the exact same shape, so you get no ‘hints’ based on the outline of the pieces! This will have you twisting and turning the pieces to find the right color combinations just like a Rubik’s cube. If you know someone who loves jigsaw type puzzles but wants an added challenge, these are a great option.

For younger kids, TCG Toys Megamats are awesome! When I was little I never much cared for cars, I much preferred small dolls. However, I loved my cousin’s car rug because it had imagery of various community buildings. So he used the mat to play with his cars, while I used it to create a scene with my little dolls, taking them to the fire station or the park! Megamats are sort of like those old toy car mats, except they are available in various sizes and themes. For example, the Road Racers Megamat is more of a basic toy car mat that details a local community. Yet they also have lots of Megamats that feature some of your children’s favorite characters. I selected the Marvel Jumbo Megamat for my 4-year-old nephew who loves superheros. The mat is a Spider-Man theme and it comes with two superheros in cars (spiderman and hulk). The mat can be wiped clean. It is 5’x3.5′ so there is plenty of room to play.
