If you’ve been searching for a job at any point in the past couple of years, you’ve probably noticed that a lot of companies are offering “remote” jobs, or “online” jobs. However, that still leaves you working for a 9 to 5 company, and you don’t really have a lot of freedom.

But if you want your freedom, why not consider an online job that lets you choose your hours, choose your clients, and choose how you do business? You’re your own boss, and you can still make a killing in terms of income.

A lot of people steer clear of this because they feel they’re not qualified for such jobs, but the thing is, there are plenty of online jobs available that you can definitely do, whether that’s streaming on cam sites, or working as a freelancer. And with that in mind, here are five online jobs everyone can do, including you!

Data Entry Specialist

When you read the title, it will probably seem like something that’s complex and difficult to do, but working as a data entry specialist is basically all about research and organization. You’ll have clients that task you with researching and finding information on individuals or companies, and you will need to gather that information and organize it so they have it in one place.

The information is something you can usually find with a bit of searching, whether that’s contact emails, websites, subscribers, followers, or anything else that’s similar. The job is oftentimes paid hourly, but some might think the rates aren’t all that high. It all depends on how good you are and what kind of clients you come across, so you can get paid pretty well.

Transcription

Working as a transcriptionist isn’t all that difficult – your job will be to listen to audio and video recordings and turn any conversations into a written text. This does require you to have good command of the language you’ll be working with, and to be able to pay attention to the recordings.

Getting paid for transcription is usually done by minute, so the more material you transcribe, the more you get paid, and it’s paid rather handsomely, too. A thing to note is that you’ll find most work for English transcription, but less common languages might pay a bit better.

Writer

Whether it’s ghostwriting books, or just writing blog posts and listicle articles, there’s a lot of demand for writers out there. To get started, you’ll need to have good command of the language you’ll be writing in (most of the jobs are in English), and good research skills so you can gather information for your content.

With writing, you either get paid hourly, or on a per-word basis, and both of them can quickly turn into handsome paydays if you’re good at what you do. Not only do you get to write and improve on your skills, but various niches and industries that will be given to you as topics will also become learning possibilities, too.

App tester

With so many apps coming out on a daily basis, on a variety of platforms, developers are constantly on the hunt for people to do some testing on them. Sure, most development teams do have QA and testers on board, but real-life testing is also required if you want to be absolutely sure your app is top notch.

If you want to apply for such a job, you don’t really need to have any special skills. In most cases, having the platform the app is made for, and the time and ability to go through the app and see if everything works is more than enough.

Getting paid is either done at a fixed rate, which is determined before you start testing, or in some cases, you get paid only when you find a problem or a bug with the app. The first one is what you should prefer, because getting paid only when something is wrong doesn’t guarantee you getting paid, and you might end up wasting your time for nothing.

An interesting alternative would be to work as a website tester, but it’s arguably less paid.

Product reviewer

Admittedly, this one is a bit tricky to find, but working as a product reviewer in an industry you care about is one of the best jobs you can do. If you establish yourself as a knowledgeable person, you can discuss with brands and get their products to test out before they put them out for sale.

This not only gives you early access to products you might want to buy, but also, you get the ability to actively participate in shaping up the product before it goes to market. You’ll basically get paid for playing an important role in development, which is perfect.

A thing to note here is that many brands might ask you to return the product to them once you’re done, so be careful what you do with it, and make sure you always follow the brand’s guidelines.
