Not Perfect Linen sent me clothing for review. All opinions are my own.
A truly unique gift in today’s day and age? Handmade clothing! While it’s too late to have items made for them to open on Christmas for this year, it’s not too late to provide them with a gift card to Not Perfect Linen that they can use to purchase made-to-order clothing for themselves!
Not Perfect Linen is a family-run brand that makes clothing from 100% linen, and everything is made to order, nothing is pre-made. This allows them to cut down on waste, and it makes it possible to customize clothing to your exact preferences if you wish!

Let me back up a bit. Do you know what linen is? I’ve always had the word in my vocabulary “the linen closet” being a closet where we store bedding. Or “linens” being a shorthand way of saying “bedding”. I didn’t actually know what linen really was though, somehow? Linen is a material made from the natural fibers from the flax plant. Due to it being used as a shorthand for sheets and sheets often being cotton or at least cotton-based, some confuse linen and cotton. They are totally different fabrics from totally different plants! However, some products do combine cotton and linen into a blend.
Anyway – linen is firmer and more breathable than cotton fabric. It’s more sustainable, and more durable. New linen fabric can feel firmer or stiffer than cotton, but softens beautifully over time.
Not Perfect Linen offers a wide range of clothing made from 100% linen. They have clothing for men and women as well as household items like tablecloths and kitchen towels. Their clothing covers a huge range including tops, skirts, dresses, shorts, jackets, coats and more. When browsing, I’d suggest looking at the clothing items based on their style rather than color, because you get to choose which color or print you want the piece made in. Whatever color the model is wearing is just one option of many!

Something extra cool about Not Perfect Linen is each item you purcahse can have up to three customizations made. For example, if you have a shorter torso than many, you can request that your top be made half an inch shorter than a standard Medium top would be. Or, if you spend a lot of time at the gym and have a hard time finding shirts that have enough room for your biceps without being baggy on your trunk section, you can order a shirt that is well suited to your trunk size, and then request that the sleeves be made with extra room to accommodate your upper arm circumference. The requests do not have to be size-specific, they can also be fashion based. For example, you could request a different style of collar on a shirt.

Customized options are wonderful for really anyone, because who really comes in a perfectly “average” or “normal” body type? I think literally everyone struggles to find a perfect fit in clothing off the rack. I personally am 5’1″ so length is usually my struggle. I know others who are tall so they have a hard time finding clothing long enough. Busty women struggle to find tops that have enough space in the chest. The list goes on! At Perfect Linen, those problems can be a thing of the past as you can request customization as needed.
Linen is less stretchy than many other clothing fabrics are made out of, so that is something to keep in mind when ordering. To ensure a full range of motion, you want to ensure you don’t order clothing that is at all too small for you.
I was sent two tops for review. I did not request any customizations to the items I received. I probably could have had them made a little bit shorter because I am short, but I thought I’d just review the items in their standard form.

HAMBURG fitted linen top review
The HAMBURG fitted linen top was crafted for me in their cinnamon rose fabric which is a solid subtle red color. This top is a pretty simple top with a rounded neckline that gives it a slightly more feminine look than a t-shirt, while being extremely versatile. This top could so easily be dressed up or down! This top has a gentle a-line shape so it doesn’t fit too close to the body throughout the waist, belly and hip areas.

When your clothing from Not Perfect Linen arrives, it will have fold marks as that’s just how linen works. You can iron these creases out if it is really important to you, but Not Perfect Linen suggests embracing the imperfections instead! If you do iron, do so inside out and on a medium-high setting. Anyway, please don’t mind the wrinkles in my photos.
Linen can be washed on gentle or delicate machine wash cycles and dried on low heat. Garments are pre-washed before being sent to you so they shouldn’t shrink.

The second shirt I was sent was the LUCA V-neck fitted linen top. I wear v-necks almost all the time, but mine are usually 100% cotton or at least cotton based. I was sent this one in grape wine. Purple is my favorite color and it’s not always easy to find purple tones in clothing so I love that Not Perfect Linen had this grape wine option.
This top is a pretty simple v-neck design. It is a moderately deep v-neck so it has a feminine appearance to it. Similar to the other top I selected, this one has a subtle aline form so it flows away from the body slightly.
Overall, I like both of these tops and am excited to see how they soften over time! It’s really neat to get to have some items made to order. I really think a gift card to Not Perfect Linen would delight anyone who has a hard time finding clothing that fits them really well, and/or who really likes sustainable businesses.

Win it: Not Perfect Linen has generously offered to send one winner a prize of any one clothing item that they offer! Of course, the piece will be made to order so it will take a while to ship. The winner will be able to choose any one clothing item for men or women from their shop.
To enter, fill out the GT form below by 11:59pm EST January 6th 2026. Giveaway is open worldwide with exception for Russia, Belarus, and North Korea.

I think the idea of wearing linen is interesting and I need to look more into this. I heard it is healthy for your body to wear linen or cotton, rather then other materials like polyester.
