HOMRELEXA sent me their cross-legged office chair for review. All opinions are my own.
About a year ago, I bought a cross-legged office chair for myself. It had no arms, and no wheels. It was just a soft, extra-wide chair that allowed me to very easily sit cross-legged while working. I have diagnosed ADHD and ehlers danlos syndrome, and my therapist believes I am autistic as well. This combination means I find myself constantly sitting in ways that apply some pressure to my joints or “max out” my joint range, to provide sensory input to my body about where my joints are. I love sitting cross-legged, I also love sitting on my feet, etc. With the EDS, I also find that my legs tend to fall asleep very quickly if I try to “sit normally”.
So, I loved having a cross-legged chair…but I didn’t love how it wasn’t on wheels so it was hard to move around. I also didn’t love how my cat wouldn’t sit with me. The chair was technically wide enough for both of us, but it would make for a very tight fit and she’s a cat who likes her autonomy so she’d never sit with me.

When HOMRELEXA offered me their chair, I thought it seemed perfect for me. I loved that it was on wheels like traditional office chairs, I loved that it was wide enough to comfortably sit cross-legged, and I loved that the sides of the chair could be dropped down for a cat or small dog to sit with you! I also liked how it was available in multiple colors, and how it had thicker cushioning and a higher-back than my other cross-legged chair.
I opted for the black velvet version of this chair. I have a sensory aversion to a lot of velvet, but this cover has a very short pile length or pile depth, which means it doesn’t cause me the same aversion as longer velvet does. It doesn’t feel “furry” to me.

The chair has a foot rest, which I personally don’t use because I am constantly sitting either cross-legged or I am sitting on my feet. However, the footrest can be folded completely under the chair (it does take some intentional effort to get it under there in my experience) or you can pull it out. The top of the foot rest just stays in place by gravity, so when you first pull it out, you have to flip it into place.

The arms of the chair “click” into several positions, from fully upright, to fully horizontal. I tried leaving one arm down in hopes that my cat would take to sitting on it with me, but she didn’t. I tried luring her with treats, or picking her up and sitting her in that spot and petting her, but she just doesn’t seem to be a cat who wants to sit on an office chair with me. She is a somewhat nervous cat, and I think the chair moving is what makes her not comfortable sitting with me.

So, unfortunately, my dream of my cat sitting with me has not come true, haha. However, I still have really enjoyed this chair just for myself. I like how the back is taller than my old criss-cross chair, and how thick the cushioning is. I also love how it has wheels like a regular office chair so I can wheel myself right up to my desk, or wheel myself back from my desk with ease. So far, I have found the cover pretty easy to wipe clean.
The chair is said to have a 400lb weight limit which is higher than many other office chairs. Check it out on amazon HOMERELEXA big and tall criss-cross office chair with flip armrests for pets
As with everything on Amazon, the price fluctuates but it’s around $200 which I think is a pretty reasonable price for this chair.
