When the word backpack comes up, my mind typically thinks "school". But back when I was doing daycare, one of my families actually used a backpack instead of a diaper bag. Since they only needed a few essentials, it was always super light and it allowed their little boy to be able to strap it on and carry it proudly all by himself. That was a light bulb moment for me because, until then, it never occurred to me to use backpacks for anything but school.

From the week our kids are born, they are introduced to wondrous worlds through books because every night, we all gather around for family story time. My husband and I feel that instilling a love of reading is important so we rarely miss this time together. Then, as the newborns grow into curious babies, their toy box always holds a few board books in the mix. By the time they are toddlers, they typically initiate book time throughout the day.

Before having children, I never realized how many pairs of shoes they would need! It's crazy how fast those little feet grow. When our first was a newborn, it was hard to find small enough shoes. As she grew, I was forever having to buy her new ones as she moved up in sizes. Now with five little kiddos, the ever-changing cycle of shoes, feet growing, and new shoes is quadrupled.

Once our babies start on table food, I pretty much eliminate all baby food (except breast milk) and serve them what we are eating. For most of our kids, this begins at about 9 months old. But sometimes, the hardest part of the transition is finding proper dishes, silverware, and accessories that actually work! Just recently, I was introduced to b.box and have fallen head over heals in love with their amazing, innovative products.
