Most of us have picked up a Chicken Soup For The Soul book at some point in our lives. I've read portions of several, and thoroughly enjoy the stories about children, grandparents, moms, dads etc. Most of us enjoy reading touching stories about family members because we can relate to the feelings others express for their family members. For many of us, our families don't end at our human family members. Cats have a special way of becoming true members of our family while being great couch cuddlers Read more [...]

I'm a small person - just 5' tall. This makes buying various items of clothing difficult. Pants are nearly impossible to find with a 27 inch inseam. With pants though, the easy fix is to have them hemmed. Bra's are another difficult thing to find that fits right, and there's no way to 'fix' a poor fitting bra. I have a small cup size, but it's easy to find my size in department stores. However, most bra brands have a set width between the cups on a bra, whether the bra is a 48DD or a 32A, it has Read more [...]

Sunday afternoon a small tornado went through my area. Several trees were knocked down real close to my apartment building but the building and us are okay. Consumers energy said they have over 110,000 customers who are currently without power, so they have their hands full trying to fix it all. We called an automated line that told us our building is expected to be turned back on by 11pm Thursday. We are staying at Ryan's moms for now, and brought all of our fridge/freezer contents with us plus Read more [...]

Clean Spirited is a company with a conscience. They strive to provide alternative clothing options that are better for our earth. Every little bit we can do to help is better for the greater good, so consider the product alternatives that CleanSpirited.com offers." I really like that statement. One of the downsides of living in Michigan is we don't have much of a spring. In mid April, it snowed. Two weeks later, it was 80. We've still been going back and forth between having low 50's weather to high 70's, with little in between. Our apartment is on the third floor, so on the hot days, the apartment gets unbearably hot. We are blessed to have central air, but we try to use it as little as possible because it's expensive to run. For me, i don't mind being a little over warm during the day. Read more [...]

Nintendo Ds's seem to be on every kids wish list. My 7 year old sister recently got one, and has noticed that there are more "boy games" than "girl games." When I heard that Ubisoft was coming out with Petz Bunnyz Bunch game, where kids can care for a virtual pet bunny, I knew she'd love it. I was right. Every kid wants a pet but often times the idea of having a pet is much more fun than the responsibility of a real pet. That's why Petz Bunnyz is so great. Kids can experience the fun of having a Read more [...]

Sometimes, college is the farthest thing from fun or even enjoyable. Most notably, during exam week. I lucked out somewhat this semester, as two of my classes didn't have comprehensive exams, instead we just had a "regular" test that covered a few chapters, as the last class period. That took a bit of stress off, but even so, it's stressful waiting for your final class grade when you have so much money and time at steak. Plus, my professors always seem to throw on final projects, presentations, Read more [...]

I love regular homemade popcorn as well as movie theater popcorn and kettlecorn, so I was excited to try out twelve different flavors that are offered at dale and thomas popcorn. Yet, I had no idea what to expect because I didn't think popcorn could possibly vary enough to make 12 different flavors. I had never tried gourmet popcorn before. I wound up having to expand my understand of "popcorn". See, I think of popcorn as that plain stuff with butter on it, and maybe some salt. Although I like kettlecorn, Read more [...]
