I recently mentioned that I love to cook as a kid. I even enjoyed cooking when I didn’t care for what we were making. However, I’m sure that if I had the chance to make my own candy I would have been thrilled! When I heard about glee gum’s make your own candy kits I knew it would be a great activity to do with some of my nieces and nephews so I sought out a review, and glee gum was generous enough to provide us with a make your own chocolate kit. I’m sure most of you are thinking about how much of a mess it must make to make your own chocolate with kids. Well, these kits ARE suggested for ages 8+, but younger kids will definitely enjoy them as well you just have to give them more assistance and watch them more closely. That being said, it’s really not as messy as I thought it would be. The ingredients come in small packages and all you have to do is a few steps. You have to melt the cocoa butter, then add the cocoa powder and sugar. Then you just stir until it’s done. The kit can be made in the microwave or the oven either one. I am a bit weird in my taste preferences, and I don’t care for chocolate so I can’t speak for how well the chocolate turned out, but the kids liked it! In addition to the make your own chocolate kit, glee gum also sells two other make your own candy kits, one is make your own gummies and the other is make your own gum. Or, if you prefer to just buy gum, they sell premade gum as well. This would be a great gift idea for kids, tweens and teens. The boxes are pretty little and would fit in most stockings, so consider this for a stocking stuffer as well. The kits retail for 13.00.

I have checked out this product and really like it. I especially like the educational page included. Best of all, there are several stores in our area that carry the kits.
