Todays product review is a great gift idea for the 3-7 year old on your list. If you have a child who isn’t reading yet, or has limited reading skills then you probably have somewhat of a difficult time finding game that the whole family can play. You can only play chutes and ladders and candy land so many times, right? Well I have a solution for you – The Ladybug Game! The ladybug game is created for kids ages 3+ and requires no reading to play. The game was created by a first grader and will really appeal to your little ones. It has an adorable game board and the ladybugs themselves are too cute. You navigate from one end of the board to the other, with certain spots having directions like ‘go back 2 spaces’ etc, with a big number 2 and a backwards arrow. So although the arrow and number 2 will be enough to direct kids to go back 2, the words are there so that children can begin to associate the words with the symbols, which can aid in learning to read. The game is also great practice with numbers and counting for preschoolers. The game includes animals that children may not have heard of before, such as the praying mantis and aphids. Overall this is a great game that can be really educational for preschoolers and younger children. I see a lot of parallels between this came and the traditional preschool games such as chutes and ladders, and if your kids are interested in those types of game they would love this. I love how it appeals to kids so much while being educational without the kids even realizing it.

Buy it: The ladybug game sells at target, toys r us, kmart and others, or online at zobmondo.com. It retails for 11.95.
