Shopping is so much easier when you can get everything in one spot. You COULD go out in the cold, fight your way through the crowds for the awesome deal that will probably be sold out when you get there…OR, you could simply head to csnstores.com. Csn stores has something for everything on your list. Actually, CSN has closer to 1000 things for every person on your list. This is awesome in a way, but horrible at the same time, if you’re as indecisive as I am. Hehe. I finally came to a decision though, on what to use my gift card on. I chose two items. The first is Carsons the rock professional tripod. Ryan does videography, and his camera is a professional one – similar in size to what you see news channels use. So a sturdy, high quality tripod is important. He had two before, and neither did a good job of supporting his camera and allowing him the flexibility that he needs to video tape weddings. For his needs, he wanted a tripod that had a level, so he knew the camera was leveled if he does an outdoor wedding or is in uneven ground. He also wanted a tripod that had a quick release button, so that if he has the video camera on the tripod, and then something exciting begins happening in the other side of the room, he can quickly grab his camera and get to where the action is. He needs the tripod to be lightweight, so he can run around with it with ease, while still being sturdy enough to trust leaving his heavy video camera on it. Lastly, he wanted the tripod to extend tall enough that he can stand and use it. Ryan is about 5′ 11″. So when I found the carson the rock professional, there were several features that I loved. The rock professional has two different bubble levels, weighs in at just 3.52 lbs, while being designed for professional use, and being very sturdy. I also loved that the feet of the tripod are rubber, so the tripod won’t slide around on flat surfaces, such as at receptions. Yet, if using the tripod outside, there are spikes that can extend from the feet, to keep the tripod secure on grassy areas. The tripod extends to 65 inches in height, so that once the camera is placed on the tripod it’s at a very reasonable level even for men. Or, for shorter people or for low shots, it extends down to 25 inches in height. The top of the tripod has three adjustments, that allow the camera to tip up or down, another to allow side to side adjustment, and a third for 365 degree adjustment. Overall I was thrilled with all of the options for using the tripod, and how it seemed sturdy. If you look up professional tripods, you can find them ranging into hundreds and even thousands of dollars. As a poor college student, that’s just not doable. Even if we were better off financially, I’m not sure that we would look any further than this tripod though, why pay more than we need to? With so many features, I’m not sure why we would need anything more expensive. Overall we are very happy with our Carson tripod and would recommend it to anyone in the market for a great, affordable tripod. The carson the rock professional tripod is one of the items that csn guarantees to be delivered before Christmas!
One of the huge benefits of csn stores is you really can get something for everyone there. Switching gears completely, I also chose a remote control snake for review. I thought it was really neat to find a r/c snake toy, I knew it would appeal to my nephews so I ordered it. Unfortunately, I was notified soon after ordering that the snake wouldn’t be mailed out until December 8th, so I haven’t received the snake yet. However, it sounds great and is a great gift idea for the snake lover on your list, or perhaps the remote control car lover, who has too many remote controlled cars already? The snakes remote has just four buttons, making it easier to control for little r/c enthusiasts.
Buy it: Both items can be purchased at csnstores.com.

I love the contrast between a fancy tripod… and a remote control snake! But you’re right, that does sound like something that my nephews would have fun with as well.
And awesome review of the Carson tripod – I don’t even remotely need one but your writeup made me still kinda want to get it anyway! 🙂
