I love popcorn. I don’t love burnt popcorn, unpopped kernals, or getting kernals stuck in my teeth. But, the two go hand in hand so you can’t have one without the other, right? Well, I used to think so too. But now there is popcorners. Popcorners chips allow you to experience all of the yumminess of popcorn without worrying about over or under cooking the popcorn, or getting kernals stuck in your teeth. I thought popcorners sounded great, but I was curious to find out if they really tasted like popcorn. When they arrived and I tested them out I was really surprised at how close to popcorn they did taste! The butter flavor was great for traditional popcorn lovers. I also was surprised at how closely the popcorners kettle flavor resembled kettlecorn. The other flavors were really good as well, but they weren’t typical popcorn flavors. The sea salt flavor was really good in my opinion although Ryan didn’t seem to care for them. This is to be expected though as he isn’t big on salty foods. My personal favorite was the white cheddar. I absolutely love white cheddar puffs that are similar to cheetos, etc. These tasted just like that, but in a light-corn chip instead of a puff. The last flavor was jalapeno pepper which neither Ryan or I cared for but neither of us are a fan of jalapeno so I’m sure that’s why. Due to the appearance and texture of these chips, I thought they would be like a similar to rice cakes. They are somewhat of a similar texture but they do not taste the same. I have found that rice cakes, despite having a variety of flavors, tend to have an underlying similarity in all of the flavors. Popcorners chips have MUCH more variety between the different flavors and in my opinion taste a lot better. We really enjoyed our popcorners chips and they are well priced too.
