For a while I have been intentionally not blogging about my coupon trips because I know that lots of my readers aren’t frugal or into coupons, and there are tons of coupon blogs out there to follow as it is. I have no intention of posting about printable coupons, ad match ups, or anything like that here on my blog. I want my blog to stay focused on my life and on reviews and giveaways. However, I do enjoy sharing my coupon trips so I hope that’s not annoying for anyone.
I live in the land of no doubles so when I heard that kmart was doubling to .99 this week I wanted to give them a try. I hadn’t shopped in a kmart in a long time, and never had stepped foot into the one here in town. I thought i’d get some good deals using my .75 off coupons that would double to take 1.50 off. I was amazed at how much more expensive most the items at kmart were. I did get a decent deal on toilet paper, paid .38 per double roll. I also got 4 boxes of cake mix and 4 frostings for .77 per item. Those were the only things I got at kmart though.
The rest is from Meijer. At meijer I did two transactions (my boyfriend did one and I was behind him so that I could use the catalina that printed when he checked out). Together we paid 55.13 and saved 42.32. We also have a 2.00 off catalina to use on our next meijer trip. I should have gotten an additional 1.00 off cat but it didn’t print. :(. But I saved 43.4%. Not great compared to most couponers but I am still fairly new and had to get a handful of items that weren’t on sale and I didn’t have a coupon for (milk, sugar, corn bread mix, etc) so I am happy.
This picture doesn’t include the eggs we bought or all of the 2 liters. they were 10 for 10.00 and get the 11th free so we got 11.

When our children were little and I wasn’t working, I used a lot of coupons and saved quite a bit. I never tried to be a coupon queen or beat the system. I was just trying to make ends meet a bit more easily. I still follow sales and coupon, but not as seriously as I did before.
Keep it up. It really does make a difference.
