Rock ‘N Learn debuted in 1986 with their first educational video. They created videos for kids that presented enlightening materials with current kid friendly music. They made videos that covered several subjects including preschool topics, math, reading, science, social studies, and language. Rock ‘N Learn videos have been well received; today they have over 50 titles.

For our review, we received the NEW Rock ’N Learn Letter Sounds DVD. This DVD covers a lot of important lessons. It shows the alphabet in capitol and lower-case letters, it teaches the sounds of each letter and shows you how to properly make those sounds with an on screen mouth. After those early skills are mastered, it guides you into using those sounds to make words, sentences, and even short stories.

Judging by the title, I thought this DVD would be great for my 2.5 year old and it is but, it also has information that is appropriate for my 5 year old. My 2.5 year old knows most of her letter sounds and is trying to “read” like her older sister. My 5 year old has been reading for a while now. She is at the point where she knows all of her sight words and is ready to move on to more complex material.

We have a handful of Rock ‘N Learn DVDs, Letter Sounds is by far my favorite! I strongly suggest this DVD for children that are in the process of learning their letter sounds and show signs of wanting to learn how to read.

You can find Rock ‘N Learn on their website, Facebook and twitter pages.
