For more than 15 years, Chicken Soup for the Soul has been producing books that speak to our souls. Motivational speakers Mark Victor Hansen and Jack Canfield created a series of books that would help their readers discover their feelings and learn new life skills for a variety of topics. Today, there are over 200 Chicken Soup for the Soul titles.

For my review, I received Chicken Soup for the Soul, Stay-at-Home Moms. This book has 101 Inspirational stories from Moms who have chosen to stay-at-home or work from home. Moms who have “been there, done that” tell about how they found balance, went about decision making, and how they managed their time.

I can remember being asked as a little girl what I wanted to be when I grew-up; my answer was always that I wanted to be a Mom. What I didn’t know was if I wanted 2 or 3 kids and whether or not I would be a stay-at-home Mom or work outside the home. When I met my Husband and knew he was “the one” we discussed children, careers, and so on; he too wanted kids and felt strongly that if I wanted to, he would work extra to make sure I could stay home with our kids. This decision was an easy one for us to make; I have been a stay-at-home Mom with our two beautiful Daughters for 6 years.

Being a stay-at-home Mom is the best and hardest “job” I have ever had. There are no breaks, no overtime, and no sick days. I do however get may job perks; I get to have extra time with my kids each day. We read books, play games, and do school work. They help me with some of the household chores and run errands. We have our struggles, but I would trade this time with them for anything! Reading Chicken Soup for the Soul, Stay-at-Home Moms allowed me to laugh (and cry) as I walked down memory lane. I also took away some tips on how to better manage my time and not worry about some of the little things at the end of the day.
