Week 1 completed! As with any other major change in a person’s daily life, I know there are going to be good times and bad times during this weight loss journey; time when I feel like I’m on top of the world and times when I struggle. It feels different with Nutrisystem though. This week I realized I have the tools and support to make it through the tough times and lots of friends to help me celebrate the good times. I even had a waitress help me with my menu items because she has friend on the Nutrisystem program. It’s like I have another branch of friends/family out there supporting me.
Since this was my first weigh-in, I was really nervous to check my progress. Even though I knew I had eaten the right foods, drank my water, and done daily exercises; I didn’t know if the scale would show my hard work. I decided to start my weigh-in by checking my measurements. This week I lost nothing in my upper arms; 1/2 inch on my chest; 1/2 inch in my waist; 1/2 inch on my hips; and 1/2 inch in my thighs, for a total of 2 inches. Now it was time for the scale, I closed my eyes, held my breath and jumped on… (drum roll)…I LOST 6.8 POUNDS! Yahoo; I am so excited!
Next week I get to practice being in a social setting with my Nutrisystem foods. I immediately start my new week with 5 potluck get-togethers. For a couple of the events, I am going to take the Nutrisystem lunch meal bars and eat those with lots of fresh veggies. For the other events, I am going to prepare my meal at home and take it with me. Both of these options will allow me to enjoy time with our friends and not be forced to spoil my hard work.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.
