Every time I visit the Nutrisystem website, I discover something new- a helpful tool, support group or fun recipe to try. Today, when I went to look for a recipe, the “Inform & Inspire” tab caught my attention. When you open that page, several articles are available covering topics like “Seeing is Believing,” “Weigh of Life,” “Move to Lose,” and “Fast Facts.” I was drawn to an article titled “Dress to Impress.”
Since August, I have lost between 4 and 4.5 dress sizes. That pretty much means, that nothing that was in my wardrobe when I began, is there now. I have purchased a few pieces along the way and they too have come and gone. Now that I am about 2/3 of the way to my goal weight, I have a general idea of the size of clothing I might be wearing when I am at my goal weight. I have been looking for a few investment pieces that, with some creative dressing, will fit me now as well as in the future as I continue to loose.
The Dress to Impress article had a few suggestions for what I am calling, creative dressing. A wide belt will work well to spotlight my new slimmer waist. Stilettos will elongate a woman’s legs. If you are able to wear and walk in them, lucky you, they can also help you feel more confident and attractive. A wrap dress is a great piece that is size versatile and figure friendly. Pencil Skirts are another great way to elongate and minimize. Last but not least, V-neck tops draw attention to the neckline and lengthens a person’s torso. For the first time, I am having fun clothes shopping. I enjoy seeing my hard work pay off with attractive clothing that fits well.
This week’s measurements show a loss of 0 in my arms, 0 inch in my chest, .5 in my waist, 0 inch in my hips, and 0 inch is my thighs. A weekly total of .5 inches lost and an overall total of 33.5 inches. My weight stayed the same this week so, I continue to be at 37.4 pounds lost.
Today I want to share a recipe that might have you do a double take. I have come up with a green protein drink recipe. I make a Nutrisystem vanilla protein drink per their instructions. Then I add about a cup of fresh spinach and a banana. Blend well and enjoy! It counts as a power fuel, smart carb and one veggie. This recipe has been kid-approved several times! You can watch my Daughter and I make it in this video.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

I will need to look at the dress to impress. I dislike trying on clothes, but someday, it may be good one I’m thinner. Congratulations on getting to your 2/3 of weight loss mark!
