Chicken Soup for the Soul has some great new books this year! Chicken Soup for the Soul gave me the opportunity to read Chicken Soup for the Soul Parenthood and I loved the stories. You will find heartwarming and humorous stories written within this book. You will also read about the joys of raising children of all ages. It doesn’t matter if you have a newborn, a teenager or a young adult you are sure to enjoy these stories. These stories will bring back memories or offer some sound advice that you may be looking for as a new parent.
As I was reading Chicken Soup for the Soul Parenthood, it brought back some great memories of when Little C was a baby. It also was a great reminder as to how I felt as a first time mom. Now that I am awaiting baby number 2, the stories were also reminders of some of the things that I may go through. I absolutely loved the stories about what kids say. My own Little C says some pretty funny stuff that I write down so that I can remember them later. It is always so funny to hear what kids can come up with. I just loved listening to them or reading stories about them. There is also a chapter about giving your children wings and letting them fly. That was a great chapter for me to read. Even though Little C is almost 5, he is my buddy and sometimes I just want him to stay little forever. I know that I need to let him go and grow up and I force myself to do so, but it was nice to read that I am not the only parent that needs a little reminder of that every now and then. Reading Chicken Soup for the Soul Parenthood also gave me a little insight as to what I can look forward to when Little C and the new baby grow older and encounter the teenage years. Those should be very interesting years, lol!

I haven’t read this one yet! I think it will uplift parents who are struggling through parenthood. I have another series of books that I love as well. Susan Spira has written the books, “Happy Shorts, The Happy Tips Book,” and “One-Liners For Life.” The one I am currently reading is “One-Liners For Life.” It’s quick and easy to read with not a lot of fluff. Just the bottom lines leading to greater joy and understanding. She has also written several Children’s books. http://susanspira.com/

I wouldn’t dream of getting new parents a how-to book on parenting since I’m a nurse. A great lighter read would be this Chicken Soup book though. Always good advice and not too preachy.
I love all the Chicken Soup books and have many of them now
