I like photographs. It’s important for me to get a family photo a couple times a year to see how we have all changed and especially if we have added anyone new. With four young children, they are changing and growing so fast that it’s fun to look back at previous years. With that being said, I was never that great at remembering to take pictures all that often but since I’ve gotten an iPhone, (my previous phone was 8 years old and didn’t even have a camera), it’s been a lot easier to capture some great moments since I always have my phone (i.e.:camera) with me.

Two of our boys just had a birthday and I wanted to get a new family picture.  So I had some friends help us as I’m sure most of you know how hard it is to get a good shot with children involved.  Especially more than one child.  So, we had three people making faces and trying to get the kids to look while another had my phone trying to snap a good picture.  Here is what we got:

In the first photo, you can all guess who we are staring at since one little boy is missing.  We took about 20 shots total.  I wave my white flag.  While none of the shots were “picture perfect,” they definitely showed our kid’s personalities and I particularly fell in love with the very last one.

Now that I had my photo, I headed to their site to upload.  As I tried uploading, I was given the message that it was slightly smaller than what they allow to ensure the best quality.  Because I’m not very tech savvy, I had no idea what that meant.  So I emailed and asked what I needed to do to re-size.  I received a reply quickly letting me know how to go about fixing this issue.  After my cousin changed the size for me, I was set to go.  That day, my computer was giving me troubles so I again reached out for help.  I was quickly assisted and my photo was uploaded and cropped and all I had to do was approve it.  Customer service sent me an email letting me know that their suggestion was I choose the oil painting effect because the original effect I had chosen looked slightly pixelated.  I went with their professional suggestion and chose the oil painting effect.

My canvas arrived packaged very well in sturdy cardboard and in perfect shape.  It turned out great.  I am so happy with it.  I really like the oil painting effect as well.  I was slightly hesitant because I thought I’d prefer just a “normal” look but the oil painting effect looks great.  I have the plastic on my canvas (hanging on my wall) because we are still in the middle of some construction and I don’t want it to get dusty.  Another month and I can hopefully take the plastic off.  It still looks great but doesn’t photograph as well because of a slight glare.  Here is the finished product:
