Who doesn’t love a good treasure hunt? Our kids have so much fun with those type of activities.  Some times I give them word clues and poems on paper to follow to find the treasure and sometimes I draw a map.   Oompa Toys now has the perfect accessory for your little treasure hunters. I was sent the Haba Pirate’s Treasure Seating Cube to review. I was pleasantly surprised at how compact of a box the Pirate’s Treasure Seating Cube came in.  This means that if you ever need to store it, you won’t need a lot of room.  There are three pieces to the Seating Cube.  The cube part of the bin, the cover, and then a sturdy square board that has “treasure” on it.

The first thing I usually have to call on my husband for help with is assembly.  However, this time, our 8 year old daughter opened the package and assembled the Pirate’s Treasure Seating Cube all by herself.  The bottom of the seat is a cube.  She just had to open the square and push down on the bottom.  Then she slid the square treasure inside and pressed it down.  Finally, she unfolded the edges of the cover and slid it onto the cube.  So simple.

The base of the Pirate’s Treasure Seating Cube doubles as storage.  I know we can all use that.  Measuring in at 13″ by 13″ by 13″, it’s a great size.  The kids have some pirate gear (hats, telescopes, and eye patches) that I’m going to store in here after I go dig them out of our dress up box.  I really like the idea of being able to have all our treasure hunting gear in one place so the next time we do an impromptu hunt, our accessories will be easy to find.  The Pirate’s Treasure Seating Cube is very sturdy.  The details on the pieces add even more fun to the make believe play.  The cover has the crossbones symbol on top and an embroidered compass underneath.  The side of the cube has the finishing touches of fish bones.  I also really like that the treasure can be removed from the box.  Our next treasure hunt will be starting with an almost empty Pirate’s Treasure Seating Cube.  Instead of the treasure, there will be a clue leading them on a hunt for the treasure.  It’s going to be great!
