I received a SHINE fitness tracker for my review. All opinions are my own.
I have been working really hard to live a healthy lifestyle. I try to eat nutritious foods, drink water, get the appropriate amount of rest, and get my daily exercise. For this reason, I was super excited to partner with Misfit Wearables for a review of their SHINE fitness tracker. I was disappointed when I learned that I needed an iPhone, iPad or iPod to sync with the SHINE fitness tracker, as I don’t have any of those products. I asked around and found that my beloved hairstylist has a daughter with an iPhone. She helped me review the SHINE fitness tracker; the following are her words.
The SHINE is a fitness tracker. It tracks your activity such as calories burned and steps taken. It is a small circular shape. It comes with a wrist band or a flexible clip (the product is magnetic as well as the rubber clip. It sticks on to the side of the SHINE). I enjoyed how you can wear the shine in different places. All places were accurate, that I used. These ways were, on the zipper of my jacket when running, as a wristband when sleeping, and on my pant belt buckle loop when walking and during my daily activity. Syncing your SHINE is very easy, it automatically syncs with the SHINE app on your IPHONE. This product is very versatile and user friendly.
My favorite feature about the SHINE, is that you can set a goal! You can set your SHINE to a certain amount of steps, time etc. If you pick for instance, 3o minutes running, your shine will continue to let you know how much time you have left. If you set a goal of steps, it will let you know how many steps remain until you reach your goal. It will also show you how many calories you have burned along the way.
I’m always on my phone and because there is an app with this product on the iPhone, it made it easy to use. Every time I got on my phone I would see the app and be reminded to use my Shine! It is very encouraging to be fit when you have something or someone’s help. I used to always say, “I work out better with a buddy”. Well now when it’s hard to find someone to go with I can just use my Shine and remember some progress is better than none! I don’t need someone to go with me…I just need the Shine so that I can keep encouraging myself to keep fit. I would say overall it helped me to remember that any activity is better than none even if it’s as simple as a few small walks a day.
I would suggest this product to anyone old or young. It is very diverse as to what you can do with it and the style is fun too. I think a healthy life style is important to us all, and something fun like the SHINE makes you proud of yourself when you see your progress. Knowing you’re helping keep your body strong and healthy is something everyone likes to see.
Great product overall.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

This is so cool! I love that you can set goals with it. Just the motivator I need to get moving more.

I have a Shine and I honestly love it. I can wear it all day and no one realizes it’s an activity tracker but me. Plus it’s really comfortable.

I love mine…wear it daily…only wish it recharged! 🙂 Other than that, I love it.

Really Hate the new software update on my Android, did not even get a choice as to whether I wanted it or not.
Now stuck with it, I do not want to connect with anyone or share what I am doing, just want the basic software back. -
Very disappointed in the clasp. Lost my Misfit after three months. In spite of reviews telling me the clasp is poorly designed, I bought it anyway thinking I would mainly be tracking my walking and everyday movements…definitely not a power exerciser. And then it happened! Looked downa and it was gone. Didn’t feel or notice a thing. Before I replace with another Misfit, I need to know improvements have been made on the clasp!!!!!

I still have not joined this fitness monitoring trend and looking at their site, I see they have a Shine 2 now, with the original version on sale for half off. Hopefully they have solved the clasp problem since I have had issues with that with regular bracelets and it is a pain, not to mention expensive to lose it!
I love that it allows your to set your own goals. I think I need this in my life.
