I have recently taken a liking to shabby chic/farm vintage décor. In the past I have struggled to define my décor style. I liked a little bit of everything but was afraid to commit because I often change my mind. I am not sure what has changed in the last few weeks, but I am no longer holding back in decorating our house. Our house is still for sale so I need to keep that in mind when I add décor.

I decided to redecorate my small home office. I wanted to incorporate my new décor style and to make a statement.  I needed my office area to be organized and for it to fit with the rest of our house so it wouldn’t turn-off potential buyers.

I started by creating distressed shelves. I found a set of bi-fold wood closet doors at our local Habitat For Humanity store. I cut them to my desired length, painted them and distressed them. I braced them to our wall with cast iron shelf brackets that I found at our local hardware store. Then I started adding personal items and storage solutions. I love the look and feel that I was able to create for my office area.

I needed a piece of wall art to help pull my décor together. I wanted something with style as well as purpose. I found the perfect item–a burlap memo board at HevVin Décor on Etsy.

My burlap memo board has a white distressed frame. It came with button push pins so I could easily attach important papers and special photos. I am still working on the final touches to my office, but I love the direction that it is going.

HevVin Décor shop owner, Jamie, offers home décor items with a vintage flare. Jamie’s items are beautifully crafted. It is obvious Jamie enjoys what she does. She has a great eye for detail. I will definitely be following Jamie to look for my next beautiful décor piece.
