Did you know that the average US household spends $804 a year on children’s clothing per child? It sounds like a lot, but it’s not really surprising because children outgrow clothing so quickly. So many parents get rid of their children’s clothing when it’s barely been worn because they grew too quickly.

Buying used clothing at consignment stores or yard sales can be a nice way to save money but it requires a lot of time to sort through clothing racks finding clothing that you like and that is the correct size. Yard sales are great if you find one that has your child’s size and clothing preferences, but it can require a lot of gas in your car to drive around until you find the right sale.

Loteda is a site that is designed to help you save money on Gently-used children’s clothing. They focus on selling groups of clothing together instead of individual pieces, so you get a better deal compared to buying individual pieces and paying shipping on each item. Shoppers save 70-90% off retail price. You look at listings online so you can see the clothing, brand, size and condition rating in a snap. You can order an entire season of clothing for your child in a single order to save on shipping costs. Plan to check out Loteda as a buyer? Use the code Summer20 to save 20% off your order!

If you have a tote full of your child’s outgrown clothing, you can list it on Loteda to make some extra cash. If you list the items yourself, you’ll make 90% of the resale cost. Or, if you don’t have time to list the items yourself, you can have Loteda list them for you and you’ll still make 60% of the resale cost. Once your clothing sells, Loteda will mail you a shipping envelope that you put the clothes into and pop it in the mail. That’s it! You can learn more about How to sell on the Loteda site.

I don’t see too many sites like these for kids but what a good, green, economical choice to make. Sometimes you can’t make hand me downs work and used clothing like this is a great alternative.
