switch & go dinos

VTech Switch & Go Dinos were one of my nephew Logan’s favorite toy line from about ages 4-8. They are recommended for ages 3-8 and they come in several variations and range in price usually about $10-$50 with most options being on the cheaper end of the spectrum. Each toy transforms from one creation into something else and most have other features as well. For example, the woolly mammoth toy can travel up to 50 feet and switches into an excavator. The triceratops deluxe launcher switches from a dino to a vehicle and races up to 20 feet. When in car mode it can be launched from the dino mouth which I know will appeal to my race-car loving nephew.

vtech chomp + go dino

Vtech Chomp & Count Dino is for ages 12-36 months. It comes with brightly colored pieces. When you “Feed” the dino he’ll recognize each piece and respond accordingly. The dino sings songs, discusses fruit, counts and even discusses shapes. It has two modes of play (meal mode and counting mode). There are two sound level options and you can also turn the sound off. The individual tokens can all be stored inside of the dino’s belly by either being “fed” to the dino or by opening a flap near his belly and inserting them that way. The Chomp & Count Dino is currently listed for $12.55 making it a really affordable gift for the toddler on your list! My 1.5 year old niece Kelsie is really fascinated by piggy banks right now which are of course dangerous for a child as young as her. She seems to be drawn to them because she can place coins in one by one and then take them all out and start over again. I think that the Chomp & Count dino is a great alternative to the dangerous piggy banks for her and will fulfill her desire to “fill it up”, dump it out and repeat.

Something I love about the Vtech brand is how it’s readily available in almost any department or toy store. I’ve given Vtech toys many times when in need of a “last minute” gift that I can run in and grab on the way to a birthday party.

Do your kids love Vtech toys? What is their all time favorite?

I keep seeing sales this year for Vtech toys but have no idea about the difference between them so trying to learn. They really go down in price a year later and the kids still want them! I really love anything to do with the dinos so may go with those first.
