The statistics are extremely scary and I think every single person at least knows someone who has been affected by cancer, or has been themselves. May is National Skin Cancer Awareness Month. One in every five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. Since skin cancer is mainly a lifestyle disease, which means that today is the day to become aware and make changes.
Reduce The Risk:
~Seek Shade: We know that the sun is most powerful between 10AM & 4PM so it’s best to avoid the sun during those peak hours.
~Avoid The Burn: Melanoma Risk doubles when a person has five or more sunburns in their lifetime.
~Avoid Tanning Beds: We now know that tanning beds are just as dangerous as the sun so it’s best to completely avoid them.
~Wear Sunscreen: Use Broad Spectrum sunscreen to be protected against both UVA & UVB rays.
~Cover Up With Clothing: Sun protective clothing is a great way to protect yourself and loved ones. Cover up!

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters.
