I received product from Popchips for my review. All opinions and photos are my own.

My husband works a physically demanding job with long days. To help keep him going, he takes several snacks to work; usually a bag of chips, a granola bar, carrot sticks and cheese stick.

I try not to tell my husband what to eat (he is an adult after all). With that said, I do try to stock our house with healthy options. So, I decided to replace some of his chips with Popchips. Popchips are made with potatoes that are heated in a pressurized chamber. As soon as the potatoes come out of the chamber, they pop! This is a healthier option than his traditional deep fat fried chips.

Popchips come in several flavors including: Sea Salt, Barbeque, Sea Salt & Vinegar, Sour Cream & Onion, Cheddar & Sour Cream, Salt & Pepper, Sweet Potato, Sweet Potato Cinnamon Twist and NEW Crazy Hot. For my review, I received Crazy Hot Popchips.

According to their website, Crazy Hot is like “kissing a fire-breathing dragon.” I am not sure about that, but they do have a good amount of heat to them. You can also taste a light cheddar flavor. If I had to compare the heat from Crazy Hop Popchips to another food, I would say it is just a bit more spice than your traditional buffalo wing sauce.

How did it go with my husband? I tucked a bag of Popchips into his lunch box. He came home that day and asked me where I got them from. I told him and asked why. He said he shared them at work and everyone wanted to know…they were a hit!

While writing this review, I learned that Popchips also come in Lunchtime Sidekicks packs. Right now they feature limited edition Star Wars and Disney Frozen themes and come in Sea Salt and/or Barbeque flavor. They can be found in select stores. August 1 – December 31, 2015. I will need to grab these for my daughters’ school lunches.
