Thank you to PURELL for providing me with product, free of charge, in exchange for this honest blog review. All opinions are 100% my own.

Last school year, my kids missed seven days of school.  I am one of “those moms” that keep my kids home when they are sick. If they have a fever, runny nose, vomiting, headache, diarrhea, or rash, I am going to keep them home. Not only will I be better able to monitor them, but I will also be doing my part to not share these germs with other students, school faculty, and all of their families. Yes, there are days when my kids have gone to school fine and come home with a raging fever or other spontaneous illness, but I can usually tell when they are coming down with something. Why am I going off on this rant? Because I have seen kids at school that clearly are sick and should be at home. I feel bad for the kid and their parents…I am assuming they had no other choice than to send their kids to school.

What can be done to help reduce sickness in schools? One thing we can do is teach young kids about hygiene. Hand hygiene plays a huge role in keeping us healthy. Kids at a young age need to be taught to wash their hands before and after using the restroom and before and after eating. They also need to be taught to wash after blowing their nose, coughing into their hands or sneezing into their hands.

There are going to be times when you aren’t able to use soap and water;  using hand sanitizer is the next best option.  PURELL is the #1 brand of hand sanitizer in hospitals. It is effective at killing 99.99% of most common germs.

Purell Hand Sanitizer

When my kids go back to school in 12 days, they are going to be well equipped with PURELL hand sanitizer. We attached PURELL Jelly Wrapsto their backpacks and lunch bags . I got two large Gel Pump Bottles of PURELL for each of their classrooms. I also put PURELL Advanced Hand Sanitizer Naturals in our vehicles and my purse.

Here’s to a healthy and happy school year!

  • I have Purell in the car to have when we stop to eat. Soap is not always available in the restrooms. I am glad you do keep the sick children home. I wish all parents would/could do that.

I am one of those moms too!! Why are we so willing to spread our child’s germies with everyone else??!!? If my son is sick he stays home for his health and the health of others!! We are also big hand washers and big hand sanitizers!! So important!!

PURELL is very important to use! I keep one on my desk at work and I work in a school. My kids always kept Purell in their backpacks too!

Those are very handy bottles that attach to backpacks.

  • I always keep a bottle of hand sanitizer in my purse, a bottle in my vehicle, and a bottle in my home. I love have Purell have those little portable size bottles for the kids and adults alike. I rather be safe then sorry.

I have to try this Purell! It is hard to help kids keep their hands clean esp when you aren’t there. This is good stuff!

I love Purell and it’s great for when you can’t wash your hands, I always have some on me and I use it on my grandkids as well!!

I’ve used Purell for years and as a nurse have received many small, convenient bottles for free at nursing conventions. They are so useful and necessary. I agree with you about the parents who allow their sick kids to go to school and infect others–so not cool.

Hand Sanitizer is the best! I give my grandsons the small bottles to keep in their backpacks so they can use it when needed at school. Great way to get rid of those darn germs!
