I am on my way with Nutrisystem! Today starts my 3rd week. In the last two weeks, I have been practicing portion control and learning how to making healthy decisions. Soon these will be a habit and not something I really need to think about.
I work from home. Prior to being with Nutrisystem, when I felt hungry, I would jump up from my work area and head to the kitchen for a snack. Nutrisystem is teaching me how to snack wisely. With my plan, Uniquely You, I am able to choose a morning Powerfuel snack and an afternoon Powerfuel & Smartcarb snack. I try to choose different foods throughout the week so that I don’t become bored. In case you are wondering, Powerfuels are lean proteins that contain amino acids and healthy fats. They have five or more grams of protein and are between 80-120 calories. Some of my favorite Powerfuel snacks are raw almonds, a piece of cheese, a slice of ham or turkey, and yogurt. Smartcarbs are low-glycemic carbohydrates. They are packed with vitamins, minerals, nutrients and fiber. Smartcarbs have at least one gram of fiber and are between 80-120 calories. My favorite Smartcarbs are homegrown/homemade dehydrated apple slices, hummus, black beans, berries, and roasted chickpeas/garbanzo beans.
My progress this week shows-
Weight loss- 2.2 pounds
Arms- lost 1 inch
Chest- lost 1 inch
Waist- lost 1 inch
Hips- lost 1/2 inch
Thighs- no change
Calves- lost 1 inch
TOTAL- This week I lost 2.2 pounds and 4.5 inches. My overall total is 4 pounds and 9.5 inches gone!

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.
