It’s hard to believe but it’s time to kick off our 2016 Holiday Gift Guide here at Emily Reviews. So to get started, I decided to feature something that makes a great gift for every single age. A book! I have even read that studies show that children who live in a home with books, do better in school. Even as an adult, I get super excited about a new book to read and I know every single one of our five kiddos are the same way. So when Christmas rolls around, finding new books to put under the tree is an absolute must in our family and I was thrilled to partner with Karen Gross on this review of her new book!
Follow the journey of a feisty new heroine in the new book, Lady Lucy’s Quest. Lady Lucy is on a mission to prove her worthiness to join the Knights of the Round Table. Thankfully, she believes in the power of possible and, mission after mission, she uses her unique and unusual solutions to succeed.
Also, a fun note to add about Lady Lucy’s Quest. Karen Gross actually recruited two high school students as part of their senior project to do the illustrating for her book! She provided them with the text but left the drawings completely up to them. The only instructions she gave was to be sure Lady Lucy was not typical princess as she should be portrayed as multi-racial and feisty!
So join the fun as this delightful new book inspires kids to pursue their dreams and accomplish the things that may even seem impossible! Not only does Lady Lucy’s Quest help break down gender barriers, as it’s important for both boys and girls to be able to be strong leaders, this book is appealing to all ages as everyone has to overcome challenges in life.

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.

This is a great idea for Christmas. I love the quality of their books. The children love to see their own name in print.
What a sweet sounding book. I think my granddaughter would really enjoy it.
I love books that empower girls to be what they want to be and not limiting their dreams. Awesome!!
Thank you so much!

What a great message the book conveys. Hard to believe the art work is from students so young–it’s beautiful.
