I absolutely love creating delicious meals, snacks, and desserts for my family. I grew up on a few home cooked meals here and there and plenty of frozen pizzas. We practically lived off of “lunch meat sandwiches” and Party Pizzas for a long time. (Or at least if my memory serves me correctly.) My husband’s upbringing was the opposite. Frozen pizza was a special treat that they sometimes got on Sundays after church. The rest of the week, his mom cooked for everyone. So when I got married, I started making home cooked meals for my husband and I. It took some trial and error and even some not very edible food. Years ago, he may have even told me that I really didn’t need to make homemade soup any more…… I have now mastered a couple though! However, one thing I realized as the years went on was that having the right tools in the kitchen really made a world of difference.
Sending a big thank you to Ninja for partnering on our 2016 Holiday Gift Guide!
One appliance I actually wrecked several years ago was my blender. It was just a Target cheapie that we had registered for when we got married but I was really bummed. The motor completely burned up and I no longer had a way to blend, crush, or puree things. I quickly realized that Ninja was a much better choice. Over the years, I’ve loved every Ninja product I’ve owned! They offer some really amazing products in their current line up including their newer Nutri Ninja BlendMAX Duo.

Avocado Ice Cream Recipe
~2 Trays Ice Cubes
~2 1/2 Cups Sugar
~1/4 Cup Lime Juice
Simply place all ingredients in a blender and in just a minute or two, you’ve got ice cream! (I prefer to under-blend just a little so I still taste tiny ice crystals but it’s personal preference for how long you blend. If it gets too runny, just place finished ice cream in the freezer for an hour to harden up.) So simple and quite tasty too!

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.
