I am a Nutrisytem nation blogger. I am provided with a Nutrisystem meal plan in exchange for sharing regular updates.
Ryan has been on Nutrisystem for so long that we don’t often encounter a whole lot that is new anymore. This month we did, though! Our area had a big wind storm that left a lot of people without power. We lucked out and never lost our electricity at all. Many of our nearby family members did. Ryan’s mom lost her electricity for five full days, as did many others in our area. To avoid losing money by having food spoil, we let family members use the remaining space in our freezer. Once electricity got turned back on, one family member found that their deep freezer had died or somehow been damaged during the storm. So, we have continued to have their extra food in our freezer until they can replace it.
We got ready to place our Nutrisystem order for next month and realized we still don’t really have space for more stuff! I was so relieved to realize that we could simply have him order shelf-stable food only this month. Normally he orders a mixture of both but there are enough shelf-stable options for him to order just those on months when he needs to – like this one!
It occurred to me that if you were going on a long camping trip or vacation it would be nice to avoid the frozen foods so that you can travel easily as well. I’m sure he will be excited to get to order amore full variety again after thsi month, but we are thankful for the convenience of choosing frozen or shelf-stable in times of unique need like this.

It is so nice of you to do this for your family! We had a tornado hit a couple of streets over a year ago and were without power for days. We lost a lot of food during this time unfortunately. It is awesome that Nutrisystem offers so many shelf options!

Wow, bad weather. Sorry for you but glad it is not me. I am also glad Nutrisystem has enough variety that you can do shelf stable for a month. That is a sign of a good program.

I love that they have enough options for both though!! They have shelf stable options to keep him happy or work with people who may not have freezer space!! That’s so awesome!!

I know how it is to lose power for extended periods of time. I hope your friends get a new deep freeze soon. Crazy weather in the Midwest. Nutrisystem really does seem to ave many options. I bet this would be great for roadtrips, camping etc, it is a nice system.
