Thank you to BasilBox for sending product for review in exchange for my honest opinion in this review.

I like the idea of monthly subscription boxes. I think most people love a (fun) surprise. BasilBox is a new subscription box for gardeners. BasilBox was started by a young entrepreneur who had one goal in mind – to inspire people of all ages to start growing their own food – one box at a time.

Each month, a box full of gardening goodies can be delivered right to your door. Items included in the boxes range from non gmo heirloom seeds, to organic worm castings, and much more.Β Each monthly box has a garden kit themed according to the season it is being shipped. All that you need to provide is soil, water and sun!

I received the September 2017 BasilBox. The items below were included:
~ 5 packs of Mlgardener Seeds. They are heirloom and non-gmo.
~ 1 fabric pot with handles.
~ 1 Mrs. Meyer’s Daily Bar Soap. Basil scented natural soap to wash up after working in the garden.
~ 1 package of SoilMoist Granules. Add to your container plants to reduce waterings.
~ 10 plastic plant labels. They are reusable, and help you keep track of what you planted.

I am very happy with my BasilBox. We live in a cold climate, so my vegetable garden is done for the year, but I am already looking forward to being able to plant the seeds and try everything out in the spring. I am especially interested in the fabric planter, as I have never used one of them before. A very neat idea!

Above are the themes for the upcoming months. The October BasilBox includes flower bulbs, which sounds wonderful! If you have a gardener in your Christmas list, a BasilBox might just be the perfect gift! As a bonus, the items in the box came beautifully wrapped, too!

Raddieshes love cool weather, are frost tolerant and grow very fast (some as little as 18 days depending on the variety). You should plant them! You’ll be harvesting radishes of thanksgiving πŸ™‚ PS I live in wisconsin, so our first frost will be here in days, I’m still planting my fall garden πŸ™‚

  • Hi Asha!
Thank you so much for your kind review, I enjoyed reading every little piece of it! Happy gardening!

PS, if anyone reading this on 10/15 is interested in getting the October box with four types of flower bulbs, today is the last day to subscribe before orders are moved to next month’s shipment! πŸ™‚

Most subscription boxes don’t get me excited, but this one is so nice! I love it. It would make a perfect gift, too!

OMGosh, I need this (dare I say) for myself! I am the gardener here.

    • Thank you for your comment Margot! If you are interested in trying out some of our previous boxes we have them up for sale as one time purchases in the shop section on our site. The October box will be going up there in the next few days. πŸ™‚

Every fall I plan to plant bulbs for a spring surprise. And every year I forget! I’d love to try out the October box.

    • It’s such a rewarding and happy feeling, when the bulbs start coming up in early Spring, and there’s still snow around. A sign from nature that warm weather is on its way! πŸ™‚ I do have some October boxes left, which i’ll be putting up in my one time shop section in the next 1-2 days if you’re interested! πŸ™‚

I’m a real garden fan so this is a box I would love to receive. The package itself looks so pretty.

    • Thank you for your kind comment Susan! The packaging/presentation is an important factor i like to work just as hard on as i do for all the other aspects, as i feel it makes the unboxing experience much more pleasant! πŸ™‚

I love boxes like this. Being a gardener in Northern areas can sometimes be tough. I like how this one realizes what can be planted in the zones hat arent as weather tolerant. It sounds like a fantastic box!

    • Thank you Ellen! And yes that is my goal, for our seed shipping seasons i try to select a wide range of varieties that are capable of being grown in most climates according to the general season the seeds are being shipped at! πŸ™‚

Thanks for replying! I just put my garden ‘to bed’ since I am not growing any of the cooler weather things this year. I am already dreaming of next years garden. I might have to ask old St Nick for a subscription. I am glad to hear you are catering to different climates as so many thinkof zone 5 or 6 and not us northerners πŸ™‚
