1.) Games That Bring Everyone Together

Few things can beat a family game night. Choose games that work well across age groups — think Ticket to Ride, Codenames, Azul, or classic Uno. They’re easy to learn, endlessly replayable, and guaranteed to get everyone laughing (and maybe a little competitive!).  But then also consider WOW ideas such as game room upgrades: pool table, foosball, or even a new Carpetball Table from The Newbern Shop.

The Newbern Shop Carpetball Table.

The Newbern Shop Carpetball Table is the ultimate gift for families who love fun, fast-paced games everyone can enjoy together. Blending elements of pool, bowling, and shuffleboard; Carpetball offers simple rules that make it easy for anyone to jump in, while still providing plenty of skill and strategy for competitive players. Perfect for indoor or outdoor use (depending on the table materials), it’s a social, all-ages game that brings people together and keeps them entertained for years. With its unique appeal and durable craftsmanship, this carpetball table is a standout gift—ideal for families, game-room upgrades, and anyone who loves hosting unforgettable game nights.  We’ve owned a variety of game room tables and the ONLY one that keeps everyone’s attention is carpetball!  The Newbern Shop custom makes their tables and has a variety of options for both indoors or out.

2.) Family Movie Night Kit

This is a budget-friendly gift that feels incredibly intentional.  You’ll be able to create a cozy movie experience right at home.  For your gift bundle, consider adding:

3.) Customized Family Portrait or Illustration

A hand-drawn or digital family portrait is personal, meaningful, and looks beautiful on the wall year-round. Choose a style — minimalist line art, watercolor, cartoon, or modern illustration — that fits the family’s vibe.  Custom canvases are also a great option!  This is definitely a heartfelt keepsake they’ll treasure.

4.) Family Adventure

Encourage an activity the whole family can do together!  Perhaps a pass to the local trampoline park, skating rink, or ropes course!  Check out your local activities and see what adventures are available in your area.

5.) Family Cooking or Baking Kit

For a gift that isn’t just delicious — but also creates memories with every bite….  Turn the kitchen into a place of connection with a cooking or baking kit!  Consider putting together a basket:

6.) A Year of Experiences

Instead of a single present, gift 12 months of fun. Create an “experience jar” filled with envelopes labeled for each month. Inside each: a planned family activity like bowling, a picnic, museum passes, or a day trip. It’s the gift that keeps giving long after the holidays.

7.) Cozy Family Night In Bundle

Help the family slow down and unwind together. It’s the kind of gift that turns an ordinary night into something special.  Include:

8.)  Heirloom Gifts That Last a Lifetime

For a gift that carries meaning far beyond the holidays, heirloom gifts are a beautiful choice. Think personalized keepsake boxes, custom Barrel-Art clock, engraved family ornaments, custom quilts, or a handcrafted wooden recipe book to pass down favorite dishes. These pieces aren’t just gifts — they’re memories in the making, designed to be cherished for generations.

9.) Subscription Boxes the Whole Family Can Enjoy

Subscriptions make for a gift that lasts all year and are a perfect option for curious, creative families.  Consider:

10.) Matching Pajamas, T-shirts, or Sweatshirts

Matching or coordinating family PJs, t-shirts, or sweatshirts are fun, festive, and — let’s be honest — adorable.  Great for photos, great for lounging, and guaranteed to get a smile.  If the family has a trip coming up, consider gearing the shirts for that!  (Example: Disney trip? Get everyone a Mickey shirt!)

I love that you have experiences listed as the ultimate gift, I couldn’t agree more! I really like the idea of subscription boxes that you can do as a family too. We always do a family game night or movie night once a week and it is such a great way to spend time together. I have to admit, though, that the Newbern Shop Carpetball Table would be so fun to have!

I absolutely love your Gift Guides! They are so helpful in finding gifts that are thoughtful and different. I especially love the suggestions of kits you can put together yourself. A handmade or crafted gift is always soooo much more fun than something store bought or impersonal.

The carpetball table is such a good idea as it would be good for all ages and skill levels. We love to have a variety of games when we have family and friend get togethers.

These are unique gift ideas. I love the carpetball table game as it’s new to me. Sounds like a blast.

I like all the ideas especially the A Year of Experiences. You could do so much great stuff instead of buying toys that lose their appeal in a few days!
