Celebrate Dr. Seuss' Birthday With The Cat In The Hat

I partnered with NCircle Entertainment to bring you this post.  All opinions are my own.

I grew up having Dr. Seuss books read to me.  One of my favorites was Old Hat, New Hat.  Green Eggs And Ham was also big.  And of course, kids can’t miss out on the well known The Cat In The Hat.  Those and so many more were such a big part of my childhood memories, so much so that once I had children, I began to read Dr. Seuss books to them too!  When our first child was just over one, her favorite was the “Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?” board book that she had received when she was born.  And throughout the years, all five of our kids have made their rounds with a variety of Dr. Seuss favorites as they grew.

Dr. Seuss aka Theodor Seuss Geisel

Did you know that Dr. Seuss’ real name was actually Theodor Seuss Geisel?  He added the “Dr.” as a nod to his father, who had always hoped his son would acquire a PhD.  The Seuss part was not only his real middle name, it was also his mother’s maiden name.  And besides Dr. Seuss, some of his works are written under the pen names: Theophrastus Seuss, Theo LeSieg, and Rosetta Stone.
