I was sent a Kelsyus Original Canopy Chair for review. All opinions are my own.

Here in Michigan we get winter and summer both in full force. Spring and fall seem to be skipped over some years. It’s felt that way this year, in a way. We had an ice storm in mid-april, and then two weeks later it was almost 80 degrees. Sometimes those rainy spring days mix right in with the hot summer days, and that is part of why I was excited to try out the Kelsyus Original Canopy Chair.

This is essentially a folding outdoor chair, except it has a canopy over the top. The chair is quite generously sized, the brand calls it an over-sized seat. The canopy is also very generously sized, as it hangs a lot farther forward than my face does when sitting in the chair. The chair is designed to support up to 250 pounds. It is great for creating shade while at the beach, but it also would work as some minor protection if it rains when you are at some sort of event. The canopy has SPF 50+ to provide you with sun protection. However, the canopy can also be lowered behind the back of the chair while you are sitting in it, if you wish.

When folded up, the canopy buckles around the chair, and is a carrying handle which makes it reasonable to carry to sports events, campfires or BBQ’s. Part of the back and bottom of the seat feature mesh, so on a hot day if there is a breeze, you’ll stay a bit cooler.

We’ve found the canopy pretty easy to fold and unfold, and it’s also easy to pull the canopy around the folded chair to prepare it for carrying. It feels sturdy and well made, and we both find it comfortable to sit in. The Kelsyus Canopy Chair has met our expectations in every way.
