Thank you to Primal Kitchen for providing me with products to facilitate my blog review. All opinions are 100% my own.

Primal Kitchen believes that food can either “lead you down a path of disease, pain, and despair, or it can lift you up to new heights of wellness and vitality.” With this belief, Primal Kitchen set out to offer customers gourmet nutritious foods. Primal Kitchen foods are made with real ingredients! They are free of artificial ingredients, added sugars, partially hydrogenated or trans fats, soybean and/or canola oils. They are also completely free of waxes and chemical preservatives.

For our review, we received an assortment of Primal Kitchen goodies including salad dressing, mayo, and avocado oil.

We tried three salad dressings- Ranch, Caesar, and Green Goddess. We eat a lot of salad. Naturally, with four people in the family, we all like different salad dressings. It isn’t unusual for us to have a few bottles of dressing out at one time. When we opened the Primal Kitchen dressings, we had a family taste testing. My husband and youngest daughter both preferred the Ranch dressing. My oldest daughter is obsessed with the Caesar dressing and I like the Green Goddess dressing. No matter what kind of salad you eat, topping it with Primal Kitchen dressing is the way to go! They are full of bright fresh flavors.

We also received Chipotle Lime Mayo with Avocado Oil and Mayo with Avocado Oil. The Chipotle Lime Mayo with Avocado Oil is out of this world! I have used it on homemade deli sandwiches and pasta salad. The amount of chipotle in this mayo is perfect; not too subtle and not too overpowering. It brings a nice heat to a product that usually doesn’t get much attention. Chipotle Lime Mayo with Avocado Oil is my new favorite mayo!

Last but, certainly not least, we were able to try the California Extra Virgin Avocado Oil. Avocado Oil is my oil of choice. I am allergic to coconut so, we always have avocado oil in our kitchen. When I received the California Extra Virgin Avocado Oil, I was craving kale chips. I decided to use the avocado oil to make some. I washed and dried my kale. Then I cut it up and tossed it with California Extra Virgin Avocado Oil, nutritional yeast, and freshly grated parmesan cheese. I baked my kale on 300° for 10 minutes. Then I pulled the baking sheet out of the oven, tossed the kale around, and baked for another 7 minutes or until brown. They are so good!

We are in love with our Primal Kitchen goodies. We will for sure be buying more of these!

All of those sounds so good. I want to try the Chipotle Lime Mayo with Avocado Oil. That sounds so good. All of it sounds good. Thank you for the review.

For whatever it’s worth, my family and I have tried both the Green Goddess and the Caesar dressing and both came up wanting. The Green Goddess was okay but a little shy on flavor. The Caesar dressing is way too thick and bears little resemblance to real Caesar dressing. It also has a peculiar undertaste that I don’t like. The ingredients list (which is too long) includes coconut aminos and coconut flour. Really? Whatever for? Neither is necessary in a good Caesar dressing, which I often make from scratch. Both dressings tasted very much like they were put together by people who don’t know how to make salad dressing. Brianna’s salad dressings are much better with far fewer ingredients and nothing unhealthy. I’ll use up my bottle of Primal Kitchen Caesar (augmented with a little balsamic vinegar, because it really needs help), but frankly, I wouldn’t buy any of these products again. There are better brands out there for less money.

Additional note: I really wish so-called reviewers would do honest reviews. This is obviously a paid review. It’s as blatantly biased as anything I’ve ever read.

  • This was not a paid review. These items were sent to Laurie for her review, and we put a disclaimer at the top of the blog post, and the disclaimer image at the bottom of the blog post, to disclose that relationship to anyone who reads this post. We are not trying to hide that relationship at all. All of the reviews that are posted are our honest experiences. We sometimes get sent items for review that we do not care for, and in those cases, we ask the brand if they want us to post the honest, negative review, or not post at all. We do not care to post negative reviews generally speaking, so we give them the ability to opt-out, and when we dislike an item, most brands request that we don’t post a tall. So, you do see almost exclusively positive reviews here on the blog, but it is not because we claim to love everything we get – it’s because we typically do not post about the items that we get which we do not end up caring for. Ultimately, experiences with any product can be rather subjective as not everyone is out for the same things, but I feel this is particularly true with food. Preferences in food flavor and consistency can vary a whole lot from one person to the next. Laurie’s family enjoying these items doesn’t mean everyone will enjoy them, of course, but they did enjoy them.
