I LOVE our Minnesota summers.  While last year never quite seemed warm enough for a beach day, this year was great!  We had lots of perfect days that were warm, but comfortable.  And there were even a few hot days where we enjoyed staying cool at the beach.

Summer Loving, Had Me A Blast

Seriously.  I think this was my favorite summer to date.  The kids are all self sufficient so there were no diaper bags or strollers to pack when we headed out.  And while we skipped most of the parades and bazaars, we did hit the two that were closest to home.  But what I loved most of all was spending time with my husband and kids.

We started the summer off on the right foot by heading to our local Great Wolf Lodge for some waterpark and Paw Pass fun.  It was so great.  So if you’ve never been to a Great Wolf Lodge, I highly recommend checking it out.  There were tons of activities and things to do.

We also drove up to Duluth and got to check out Lake Superior up close and personal.  The kids loved spending time on the beach but the water was FREEZING!

They also enjoyed spending time at another waterpark hotel called Edgewater up in Duluth.  Not only did they have a waterpark, they also offered free bike rentals.  So Mike took the older four off exploring and in search of sea glass.  Which they found!  So that was exciting.

Not only did we enjoy getting away a little, we also had a great time right in our own backyard.  The kids are loving their new swingset and sandbox set up.

And last but not least, probably the most exciting part of our summer.  We finally got a big horse!  This has been a dream of the kids for a couple years now.  So meet Dontay!  She’s a 22 year old mare who was looking for her retirement home.  A place to just hang out in the pasture, get ridden on trails, and receive lots of attention.  She is the perfect fit for us.

Get Back Into The School Year Groove With Softsoap
