I’ve said it before, but we love PBS in our home. It’s the only channel our daughter is allowed to watch. She has fallen in love with many of the characters and we love that she is learning while watching. Earlier this summer I featured PBS Distribution’s Newest Releases ~ Children’s Shows on DVD. Now, I am excited to partner with PBS again to share with you four of their new fall releases: Arthur D.W. and the Beastly Birthday, Best of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Family Fun Collection, Garfield’s Halloween Adventure and Ready Jet Go! Jet’s First Halloween.

Arthur D.W. and the Beastly Birthday has a 70 minute run time and includes two stories: D.W. and the Beastly Birthday and Arthur’s Birthday. D.W. is turning 5, but her birthday doesn’t go quite as planned. Your little ones will enjoy watching the story unfold! In Arthur’s Birthday, Arthur and Muffy plan their birthday parties for the same day and Arthur needs to figure out a solution that will make everyone happy. This DVD would make a great gift for a little one’s upcoming birthday.

Best of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Family Fun Collection features 8 “Grr-ific Tales”: Daniel Is Big Enough To Help Dad, Daniel Is Special, Tiger Family Trip, Margaret’s First Chime Time, Daniel’s Nature Walk, Daniel Doesn’t Want To Stop Playing, Daniel’s Winter Adventure and A Stormy Day. Run time is approximately 105 minutes. Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood is based on Fred Rogers’ PBS series Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood – a classic show that I loved as a child! “These engaging stories help children develop the important social and emotional skills necessary for school and life”.

Tag along and go trick-or-treating with Garfield and Odie in Garfield’s Halloween Adventure. Garfield and Odie find themselves in a haunted house. This DVD also includes Garfield Goes to Hollywood where Garfield, Odie and Jon win a TV talent contest and get to go to Hollywood for the finals. Run time is approximately 50 minutes. As a note, I felt my daughter was a little young for this video (she is only 2 and a half). I did feel that it was appropriate for children who are a little older and understand Halloween a little better.

Ready Jet Go! Jet’s First Halloween includes four stories: Jet’s First Halloween Part 1, Jet’s First Halloween Part 2, Diggin’ Earth and Mindy’s Mystery. Run time is approximately 55 minutes. The star of this series is Jet Propulsion. He is an alien child from outer space. He explores the galaxy with his friends from Earth. Ready Jet Go! helps introduce children to space, earth science and technology. Again, I felt this video was appropriate for older children, but was a little over the head of our two-year-old. This video might make a fun gift to give to a child, grandchild, niece for nephew for Halloween instead of candy?
