A few days ago I was in the living room while cooking something in the oven. Suddenly I heard this bizarre fizzing sound coming from the kitchen and a glow. I ran out there. Our heating element inside of our oven broke and caught on fire! We had to turn the circuit breaker off before the fire would go out. The stove came with the house we are renting so I am not sure how old it is, but I know it looks a lot newer than stoves we had in past apartments. I certainly did not expect it to be so old that the heating element would catch itself on fire! I googled it though, and apparently, in some older stoves, the insulation portion of the heating element will erode away so much that it is capable of catching on fire.
So, that was the ‘excitement’ of the week last week. We plan to move in the next year into our own place. I started daydreaming about purchasing appliances of our own for the first time. A couple years back, I thought I would go with stainless steel appliances. They seemed to be the trend at the time and I thought that they looked really sharp because of the shine. However, after hearing from a few people who own stainless steel, many complain about how easily fingerprints, dust, etc shows up on their appliances. When they are made to have a shiny finish, anything disrupting that shine really catches the eye (like fingerprints!). They said they wish they had went with a matte finish instead of a reflective finish. I’ve recognized that I think there is a really ‘clean’ look that comes from having light colored cabinets and countertops, with dark appliances. I think my top preference now would be to go with matte black appliances. The LG black matte kitchen appliances are gorgeous and have bragworthy features.
LG’s exclusive matte black stainless steel appliances seem like the best of both worlds to me. It is stainless steel, but with a black matte finish that won’t show imperfections quite so easily. I think black is a more timeless color so I won’t feel the urge to replace the appliances as quickly. The black matte line features LG smart kitchen appliances that are wi-fi and voice-enabled. That will allow you to control our kitchen appliances remotely, so you can change your settings, check on the status, or turn it off or on. I would love the ability to connect remotely to my oven! It would just make life easier if my appliances could connect with smart devices.

The Matte Black appliances are beautiful! Although stainless steel is nice, matte black is a nice alternative to a modern look.
What a beautiful look for a kitchen, love the matte black! I would especially love to have that refrigerator, it is both gorgeous and amazing!
