I was sent a Nadine West shipment for review. All opinions are my own.

Nadine West is a fashion subscription service. You can sign up for monthly or bimonthly shipments. You fill in your clothing sizes, color and print preferences, opt in or out of getting items like bracelets or scarves, and take a style quiz. Then each month (or twice a month, depending on your settings) you’ll get a large pink envelope in the mail stuffed full of fashion items. Most shipments will include between 5 and 8 items.

I like Nadine West over other fashion services because their clothing is more affordable. I’m not someone who is happy to spend a pretty penny on a winter coat or a really high-quality pair of shoes. I’m not someone who would spend $75+ on a shirt or a casual dress, though and many fashion subscriptions include high-end items like that. So far, the clothing items I have been sent from Nadine West range from around $15-$35 per piece, with most items being in the $20-$25 range.  So if you are looking for an affordable clothing subscription this is it!

You are sent items free to try on, and a return shipping label will be sent with your package. You try everything on and return anything you do not wish to keep. The shipment will include a print out that lists the cost of each item so you can use that information to help determine what you want to keep. You only have a few days to ship items back if you don’t want them, but you’ll only be charged for the items that you keep.

Okay, let’s jump in to my September 2018 Nadine West!

I have ‘florals’ marked as one of my approved prints but Nadine West has sent me so many floral items that I’m kinda getting flowered-out. I like the print of this, I just own so many floral dresses already. I think it fits okay, but I tend to prefer slightly looser, more sundress-like styles over bodycon dresses like this. I also felt like the shape of the shoulder cutouts fit me a little bit funny. This dress is okay but isn’t not something I see myself getting a lot of wear out of and it’s one of the most expensive items I’ve been sent from Nadine West at $36.99 so I would pass on keeping this dress.

I was excited to see a cardigan in this shipment with fall weather being here in Michigan. I hope as we get further into fall they will continue to send me more, as I wear cardigans all the tie. This print, material and size were all a little off for me. I like really basic, solid pieces for cardigans so I wouldn’t want a floral one like this. I also felt that it fit a bit too big. If I wore this very long I’d find myself constantly pushing up the sleeves as they are wide and won’t stay on my elbows and fall at an odd length. Cute for someone else but it just missed the mark for me. This is $27.99 to keep. Overall the quality seems okay, but the buttons to pin back the sleeves feels like very cheap plastic, they are almost weightless feeling.

These earrings are large and heavy for my style. I like subtle jewelry on myself. These are another piece that I think would be cute on someone else, they just aren’t me. These are $14.99 to keep.

I gotta be really honest here guys – I was kinda shocked by this necklace. I think it’s the worst item I’ve ever been sent by Nadine West. It’s so light, almost weightless, that it feels like plastic, or a fake dress-up necklace for little kids. I don’t care for the look of it as it’s not my style, but I couldn’t believe how light it feels. So even though it is only $20.49 to keep, it seems really overpriced to me.

These leggings were a big win! I wear leggings a lot, working from home makes me slack in the ‘real clothes’ way sometimes! Even when I am trying to just be comfy around the house, I don’t want to look sloppy. I think these leggings are super cute, even flirty, but they are so comfortable to wear! With them being black, they could be paired with almost any color of top which I like. They are a nice mid-weight, not thick fleece lined that are exclusive to winter but thicker than cotton leggings or cheap yoga pants.

I really wanted to like this top. I like the cut-out look of shirts right now, and I am all for plain colored tops. So “on paper” I LOVE this shirt. On my body it looks a little funny to me. It seems to highlight my belly, and it makes me look blockier than my body really is because it doesn’t pull in at the natural waist. I think it would be more flattering if it curved in a bit at the waist, and if the cut out in the chest area wasn’t quite so wide or low. It’s too low to wear any bra with it without it showing through. I’d probably pass on this shirt but I like what it was going for. It is $24.49 to keep.

I’ve had 10 Nadine West shipments so far, and I have to admit this one was my least favorite so far. The only item I liked was the leggings, but I do really like them. I typically like at least 3 items in a Nadine West shipment, but I know each month won’t be a complete winner. I know part of my problem is being tired of florals so I will update my style profile and correct that which should help. But, the good thing is, you aren’t charged for what you don’t keep so even if you don’t like anything you are sent that is okay.
