Thank you to Neck Hammock for providing me with products to facilitate my blog review. All opinions are 100% my own.

My mom was telling me about this product called a Neck Hammock. She really wanted to try it. I reached out to Neck Hammock and they were happy to send us one for review.

The following are my mom’s words.

Both my husband and I seem to get shoulder and neck pain quite often. I think that’s the part of both of our bodies where we hang on to our stress. We also do a lot of computer work so I’m sure that plays a role in it also.

We both wanted to try the Neck Hammock as soon as we heard about it. The Neck Hammock is something we could do for ourselves without having to make an appointment or spend a ton of money. We could use it any time of day or night rather than when we had access to a professional. All we needed to do was find a doorknob where we could hang the Neck Hammock. That was a little more difficult than we initially expected since most of our doors that have doorknobs lead into a long hallway. We did discover that there were two bedrooms in our home that had door knobs and didn’t have furniture in the way.

The instructions say to attach the Neck Hammock to the opposite side of the doorknob and pull it around the door and into the room where you’ll be lying on the floor and then close the door. We tried one bedroom door and couldn’t get the door to shut when the strap was around the door….so we went to the other room and it worked perfectly.

Per the instructions, we positioned the Neck Hammock so it was between 2 and 4-inches off the floor. When my husband put his head in the Hammock, we noticed that there was enough stretch in the strap that his head went down a little further than we thought…but we were still within the 2 to 4-inch distance.

The instructions said we should feel “ease in neck pain” within about 10 minutes or less. Since he wasn’t in pain at the time, we’re not sure if that is accurate or not but he said he could feel some “pressure” being lifted off his neck.

After he had his turn, I got to try the Neck Hammock. I noticed that the ear “muffs” that are on the sides of the Neck Hammock made the room feel quiet and I liked that. It was like a little trip away from reality. With regard to the effect it had on my neck, I tried putting my hands on my chest, out straight to each side and down by my sides. Each position gave me a different feeling of release in my neck.

One thing I thought was odd is that when I got out of the Neck Hammock, I noticed that my ears had popped. I have no idea if that was coincidental or if it was a result of having my neck stretched. Maybe things got loosened up in more than just my neck/spine? I have a tendency to get vertigo at times and I almost felt like that was coming on when I was in the Neck Hammock. That may have had something to do with my ears “popping” which, again, I have no idea if that was related to the Neck Hammock.

We are thankful we were able to try the Neck Hammock. Maybe with continued use, we can reduce or perhaps eliminate our pain altogether.
